Many years ago I was a regular at Olley's until the guy behind the counter let me use the toilet out the back. It had a bath in it which was where they kept the fish, nice! Where is this great fish and chip shop in Sydenham? I need one to visit on the way back from the pub...

Personally I rather liked Ganley's, great pub to watch sport in and some great characters - like the man with unfeasably large shoes, and the sweary man. Turning it into another Bishop is a shame as the Commercial and the Prince Regent are already "gastro" pubs and are not better for it in my opinion. The regent has become a place of 3 wheel prams and the stench of baby excrement pervades the place on a weekend. -
The one in Clapham is excellent, the one in LL seems to use inferior meat as when I went there last it had quite a lot of grisle in it. I do object to paying ?2 or whatever for a tiny paper 'sample' of mayonaise though!

er, re the resident who lives above it, what did they expect when they bought the flat above a shop in a very busy road, peace? tranquility? I'm not saying they should be kept awake all night but living above a retail premises comes with certain risks which means these properties are quite a bit cheaper. You can't have your cake and eat it (unless he/she goes downstairs!) -

At the risk of being flamed on my second post, what's so terribly wrong with Caffe Nero? Someone must like it otherwise it would have closed up already. -

I had my card cloned last year and they went on a spending spree in Paris, then where did they have their lunch? Pizza Hut! Still makes me chuckle (now I've got the money back) -
Could I suggest an additional feature that I find particularly useful in the VirtualNorwood forum? There is a link called 'New Posts' that shows all the topics that have had posts since your last visit.
