Hello EDF, I have a 30ft space to fill where I took down an ivy laden/broken down fence. After receiving several very high prices quotes for new fencing, I'm thinking now that instead of a lap fence I'd replace with a hedge. Has anyone done this? Are there any nuseries/suppliers of hedges in the local area? Do you have tips on size of plants to buy and how many to buy to fill the space? Any other tips for success? I'm almost decided on type of hedge - privet, but not decided on size of plants, but I do realise that the bigger the plants the more expensive they are, but dont want to start from scratch either!!! Thanks in advance!! OD

I was told (by a station staff member)that the shutters came down in a faulty way and hit a member of staff. -

Oh well this thread had started out quite good.... Sallyfran - like you i wan wondering whether to invest in a pasta maker and think I will go ahead and do it!! Unless I see anyone offloading one on EDF; saw a few decent models on ebay for ?20!

Like you all I still have basically no reception at home. The issue had been reported to Vodaphone, although no timeframe for resolution was given when I spoke to them yesterday; spent about 30mins on the phone to them. The technician did say something about compensation for days of no service, but frankly I wanna get out of my 3G contract 3 months early (already out of phone contract) and will be switching provider..... dont know to whom yet!!!
-
Oh really?! Have only just moved back into the area, so this is my first 'experience'...thanks for your response Pickles!

Hello, Has anyone else been having issues with Vodaphone over the last couple of evenings in the Marmora Road, SE22 area? Basically, there is absolutely no 3G coverage and barely Edge coverage... Am about to call Vodaphone, but wanted to see if its just me or are others affected. Thanks, OD

As a landlord, I would consider a request that you replace the sofa at a cost/style mutually agreed if you wanted to dispose of the sofa (if it really was in bad condition). I would make sure to write a seperate letter specifically stating what was agreed and signed by both parties. I would not like the idea of storage (have had this happen before with tenants the end result was disaterous), since I would have let the property furnished I would expect all the furniture to always be present! Definitely contact the landlord directly about this, agents can be awful(and thats putting it very very mildly).

I've not booked with them myself, but from reading cruise critic, they come recommended by persons that have used them. As this is your first cruise, please read up first, before booking to undestand exactly what you are getting when you book. You'll need to consider: - The type of cruise you'd like. Each cruiseline offers a different experience. You pay for what you get! - What type of stateroom cabin you'd like and its location in the ship. You pay for what you get! - Which port you'd like to cruise from and the implications of pre-cruise flights and hotels - Port intensive cruise vs. more sea days - Goes without saying; selecting good cruise insurance! - Excursions etc - Traditional dining vs. freestyle/my time dining You'll have loads of fun planning!! hey Jadone21, Yes, I've found it very easy to book online; I have only cruised with Royal Caribbean and their website was very good. Also booked online via American Airlines website and a cruise travel agent to take a Royal Caribbean cruises. Is this your first cruise? If so, then I would strongly suggest that you do quite a bit of reading first, as there are a fair few decisions to make. I can only speak to taking cruises with Royal Caribbean and as someone who travels very regularly there are a few more things to consider before making the final booking. If you want to talk about this more you can PM me and i'll try to help you if I can! Hey!! The main difference between booking directly with the cruiseline and a travel agent is that the travel agent may give you a small bonus in the way of 'on board credit' or a 'free spa treatment' or 'dinner in a specialty restaurant' when booking. This will greatly depend on the type of accomodations and cruise line you choose. The underlying cost of the cruise will be the same at either the cruiseline or travel agent. I actually prefer to book online and have found this easier for me to manage, rather than have a physical travel agent in the middle. For more info you could check out the cruise critic forum (there are both UK and US versions)! Happy Cruising!! I'm off to the cruise the caribbean in 3 weeks time!1 woohooo!!! Hope this helps!

@Sandy_rose - its actually a half-way house type place not an estate. The entire bottom half of Talfourd road was cordoned off as a crime scene for most of yesterday from early evening. The police re-opened the road leaving only the half-way house taped off and police car in the drive.

The British Heart Foundation will collect, you can arrange this by calling them or book a collection online at www.bhf.org.uk

@DJKQ - my thoughts exactly. We also missed the high drama in the velodrome of one of the sprint races where the GB team 'false-started'!! As well as a range of many other events, twists and turns!

Whilst I beleive that its good that there is some coverage of the Paralympics; C4 are not doing it justice AT ALL. The commentary is awful, way too many ad breaks, not enough sport is being shown or discussed; which I heard from today will be addressed. As viewers we are not getting the full experience and thats a real shame. The Paralynpics is as exciting, competetive and inspiring (if not more) as the Olympic games, so should be given the same chance... BBC excelled in their coverage of the Olympics..does anyone know why they didnt cover the Paralympics?
