We haven't had it for years at our flat on Underhill rd :( neither any of the other magazines, just used to pick it picking it up in local shops now, which isn't really a problem tbh

Exercise helped me... struggled with cholesterol levels around 7.9 to 8, someone recommended the couch to 5k running app, takes just takes 30 mins of your time 3 x a week over nine weeks. you just start with gentle walking and light jogging,in small bursts, building up to you running 5k at the end in 30 mins. My cholesterol went down to 3.2 and still is. I kept up with the running after I finished the app and will now be running the london marathon next year 😀

Last week there was a guy with a leaf blower clearing our road, only thing was he was just blowing it into everyones front gardens, I just watched amazed as I was coming down our path and as he was going a long swaying his blower and as he got passed ours he blew a massive pile onto my pat ... it just made me laugh at the cheek of it (though I had to sweep it up later) 😂

Apparently a new vegan junk food delivery is coming to ED
spark67 replied to wayne10's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'd book direct via there own website, if any probs or deals they do ring really quick to let you know and are very polite, as are their own delivery peeps -
I think the gated bit is of Belvoir road that leads to the flats, the carpark entrance is off Underhill. At night one end of it is quite secluded & dark, was back there looking for our cat when I saw all the little canisters, I only knew what they were as a friend who lives in Shoreditch told me there was now a curfew imposed on all the drinking places there, they have to shut at midnight, in the hope people leave the area earlier as the streets are littered with hundreds of these things in the morning and was costing the council fortune to clean up..... I am more concerned with the gangs hiding stolen motor bikes at the back of our house & wondered was else probably goes on there after dark ;/

ITs a horrible thing ! I had it about 13 years ago, had to be taken to hospital twice from work as I collapsed and started vomitting everywhere & was incoherent, & happened a couple of times in the street. I have only one woking balance organ in my ear (which i was born with) I had never had any probs with it before, Turned out a virus had knocked out my remaining balance organ and took awhile for it to reset, I had to go to "Brain training" at thomas's to reset my balance with a few simple excercises... Turned out a bout of shingles I had weeks before was the culprit... but was told there are a few viruses that could do this.

Seems to be a bit of a spot for things like this... The car park for Belvoir lodge just of Underhill for instance. A year ago the the trees and a patch of unused overgrown land was trimmed and cut there, and a few stolen motorbikes were found chained to the trees, hidden by the undergrowth... also, because of its seclusion people are going around there using the gas canisters you get for soda syphons etc to obtain a quick high, the place is littered with them. So I imagine much worse goes on there at night.

I know this is quite an ironic post, but we had a GPS tag on our young wandering cat as she has just started going out, and she lost it, and as the battery has run out (wait for the irony) we can't locate its exact location, its last location was in the car park of Belvoir ... but could be anywhere in one of the gardens on Underhill road between Belvoir road and Langton rise.... if you come across it (can't miss it, large black square with its cat logo on a bright blue collar, please PM me. It's probably gone for good but thought I'd give it a try... obviously this is one glaring fault in its design 😂 (have asked immediate neighbours, but feel bit embarrassed about bothering the whole street)

Do you know these people - breaking into garden

You didn't find any of those little gas canisters (ones used for soda syphons etc) that kids are using to get a quick fix ? as there has been a lot kids like this going behind our fence in the car park of Belvoir lodge at night ... the place is littered with them. -
Mrs Robinson's could be doing a Bonnie's florist

Its why Mrs R had to open in Crystal palace, as they had less space to sell their larger items after the landlord reduced their floor space -
Roads in SE22 not underneath flight path (do they exist?)

I'm also at the end of underhill, I sorta got used to the planes and not really disturbed by them, i quite like the small jets that come over from city airport now and again.... then again I was brought up a few miles down the road from Luton airport, and also worked at Heathrow for a couple of years, so probably immune to the noise.... I think ED is quieter than some parts of London...I guess the noise if found annoying is hard to get away from to be honest in most parts -
what an odd post, never felt i have been mistreated by staff anywhere i've been in ed, in fact over the years we in our house have become friends with a good few of the staff and owners of local businesses .... if i walked into a shop and someone yawned, i wouldn't think straight away it was me... amazingly people yawn unpredictably and its not always personal😏 .... the only rudeness i've encountered on the lane has been by other fellow customers on the rare occasion to the staff. please excuse the lack of capitals in this post... my friggin shift keys broken 😂

My partner is vegan, and i do not eat meat or dairy, but occasions fish... but home we eat mainly vegan, like most people we don't mind the odd treat of a not very healthy trashy takeaway .... Usually during a hangover...so this sounds fab so will give it ago. When we have had the odd bbq tis summer we found these fab burger that are exclusive to Iceland.. called NO BULL BURGERS, not too much crap in them apart from some rapeseed oil, made with herbs, soya protein and beetroot extract and some herbs, no sugar.... they look like they are bleeding when on the grill, not bothered about that myself.... but pleases our meat eating friends when offered as a choice -
We keep finding our neighbours dogs toys in our garden, thought may be they were accidentally thrown over, until I saw one of the cubs from a foxes den in the grounds of some flats behind our garden plying with one of them, they'd been brining them over

Vastly inflated commercial event in P Rye Park
spark67 replied to Lee Scoresby's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes... I know people, quite rightly, who live right on the common/park, that the council/ organisers made sure were well informed and that their concerns were met.. residents immediately affected were given a hotline number to ring on the day if they were disturbed, and police were near those properties to deter any trouble when the event closed, which thankfully there wasn't... they even made sure there were extra toilets on site (there really were a lot) to discourage people from using the grounds outside afterwards. I think also the main factor was that the people who attended were in good spirits and chilled, and were having a good time..it was such a good day. -
Vastly inflated commercial event in P Rye Park
spark67 replied to Lee Scoresby's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I went Saturday with a few friends on Saturday, loved it ! we all live with in a 5 minutes walk of the Park so were so pleased we could go to something like this without trekking across town... it was pretty chilled and well organised, didnt notice anyone working the event being impolite, We knew of a lot of people local who went. Really don't see the problem here, didn't tale up any more space then the Fair that usually visits the common, and a lot of the park was still usable for the Public. One of our group lives right on the Rye and said when the event finished the crowds dispersed quickly and quietly with no trouble. Funny, as this is the first time I've looked at this thread and saw all the negative comments from a few days ago BEFORE it started, and we were talking at the event about how we suspect there were the usual people on the forum probably spreading doom and gloom about it, (usually the same people) How right we were, and how predictable this forum has become... I just laugh at it now as its become a parody of itself 🤣 By the way I am nowhere near a trendy young hipster (that term is SO 2015) and I said goodbye to my 40's a while ago now ... have lived here over 20yrs, so hopefully I am not deemed an alien by now by the ED border police 😉 -
You can hardly see for all the smoke in Burgess on a sunny day around the dedicated BBQ areas, It was wafting cross the road from the park towards the Tescos on the old Kent road one hot day last year as I went past the car (where probably most of the food and charcoal came from ..keerrrrching!):)

There's a shelter charity shop on Walworth road, and one near the post office site in camberwell (tho this could be the one from Walworth that has moved) Seemed reasonable to me.

Will ED pubs be showing the royal wedding? (Lounged)

Staying on topic of the original posters question ... I think the bishop is showing it, I'm sure they have a sign up saying so Staplemag -
Its a pretty grim stretch, went along there for a site visit with work a couple of weeks ago, Like nobody cares about the area or the people who live there and have left it to rot... total opposite to our version :(

I've had some pop up naturally in my font garden awhile ago... so best keep my location secret before its overrun with urban foragers gagging for some wild garlic pesto for their kids packed lunches (not far from the woods so possibly seeded from there) To be honest if you dig up whole plants from somewhere thats not your property, you either feel you're very entitled or are just plain ignorant .... some git pulled up an acer from my front garden a couple of years ago so I'm probably just biased and bitter. (sings let it go whilst rocking back and forth)

Was walking up to the Barclays bank cash point on the corner of Ashbourne last Saturday lunchtime, and a guy looking a bit disheveled pointed to the cash point and asked me in a what sounded like an italian accent to get some cash out for him as he was hungry.... bit bold I thought. The cashpoint was not working so used this as an excuse, pointed it out and walked off...he walked away so I went to the other cashpoint further up and started getting cash out, he noticed, and came back up and stood right behind me pretty much demanding I give him a tenner so he could get some lunch. obviously my patience snapped and I told him to clear off. I do give to people who look like they really need it if I have some change in my pocket, also have bought a couple of sandwiches & water for people begging outside the odd supermarket, If they are scammers then thats a gamble I take personally, just incase they actually do need it.... but the guy I mentioned above was the most aggressive type I've met for a long time :/

As I live just up from this section of road I have to cycle/drive down it most days and its like being on a slalem course, its easy to weave around on the bike (when you can see them properly in daylight that is), not so much in the car, got a shock when I went down the particularly large one, what a bang !... also there's a crumbling road hump throwing out a lot of rubble. *edited to say "bike", not big...Urgghh autocorrect!*
