  2. I took my 8 and 4 year old to skate there. Made to feel most welcome. Good on you all for contributing positively to the community at your expense.
  3. Saw this on Parkhill's site - "We believe that being a successful company in South London brings with it a responsibility to the local community, which needs all the help and support it can get." Made me chuckle....
  4. But strangely it is insured.....
  5. Can anyone upload a high res image of the sticker?....*chuckle*
  6. Yes. Virgin is down Horniman end of LL. It has been on/off for about a week now. Engineer came. But still not working.......
  7. I like the fact that 382 people have viewed this post. Presumably they all thought ( inc me ) that the black Astra with its lights on was theirs....
  8. Same here Melford rd end of Underhill. Also effected parts of Brockley also.
  9. I have never seen so many planning applications for a single development before. There must be at least 10 different applications for 68A Crawthrew Road by the same applicant. Some were refused others were passed. Good luck to Mr Collins, whoever he is, but the disruption to others is just plain off the scale !
  10. Read the planning policy document on southwark's website re loft extensions. If what you intend to build conforms to policy it will get passed. Every house is different due to its orientation and surrounding environment and architecture. There will be reasons for the previous application being refused on a link within the application on Southwark's website.
  11. Saw them jump out of the helicopter too. Where did they land?
  12. Hi Guys, thanks for your feedback. Is is your right as a parent to hold back your child until you feel they are ready or is it school dependant whether you can do this?
  13. Hi All, our LO will be 4 in the last week of August ( not this coming Aug i may add - We're not that "last minute" ! )and we wanted advice regarding starting school at the age of 4 ( and one week ). LO will be the youngest in the class and so will have to deal with all the issues that come along with that. It seems a really young age to start school when ideally our LO should be playing and taking time just being a child. What is the policy with schools around ED? Can children start later? Are schools helpful and open to this? Defer a year and start when they are 5? Can/are children allowed to redo the reception year? We would be really grateful for any insight, info or to hear of your experiences regarding this.
  14. I've got a leaky back door that needs urgent attention. Does she tidy up after herself?
  15. It is obvious that the Barry Rd,LL and Underhill Rd triangle is a current hot spot for burglaries so pls spread the word to neighbours who may not be on the forum to make them aware. Be extra vigilant peeps and look out for loiterers, watch outs, people "looking for someone" etc. Follow your gut feeling and if your instincts start to tingle then call the police. Fit window and door locks, install PIR flood lights. CCTV is also very cheap now and can be linked up to your hard drive to record remotely even at night. Let's hope they get caught asap.
  16. Thanks so much for your help!
