  1. the difference is is that they come from different countries with different cultures, backgrounds etc and regardless of where they are or their supposed behaviour they deserve to be recognised correctly as to what country they come from... You are rude to even think that you have the right to just put them both in to one pot because you think the difference is academic.. If you dont want people to post back 'kneejerk/humeruous' responses then dont allow your posts to sound like such a joke! (and by that I do not mean a funny joke)
  2. @ B - your first pint at the next drinks is on me!
  3. All I have to say really is ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Snoresville!
  4. Is this guy posting the too many trees dude?
  5. @DC - nope no one from HR just an email telling us to make sure our stations are clean etc etc.. I am in the 'exec area' and she is here with about 50 of her fundraising friends (or possibly they all just want to be her friend), I can see them drinking champagne and eating canapes and alas we are not invited.. We were supposed to be having a band but f*ck know where that is! She will be doing a floor walk but she will be going out of the executive area and on the floor (but they are keeping her well away from the trading floors!!) so I may not need to wobbly curtsey as whilst she is in our area it looks like we will be bypassed on the way out to the other departments.. Atleast though the left over champas will be on offer to us! woop woop.. I'd rather chmpas any day!
  6. Alright I best be practising a bit of a wobbly inclination for when I see her.. >:D
  7. Princess Anne is coming in to my office today so I will be seeing my first monarch in the flesh.. Ive never much thought anything about the royals really (she is obviously our queen in oz too but no one really believes that) but I have to say Im a little excited! Who else has met them? Do I really have to curtsey?
  8. Things That Make You Go Mmm. Artist: C & C Music Factory - absolutely no idea why..
  9. Nobody does it better - Carly Simons
  10. Trouble On The Turnpike - Gordon Terry
  11. I have to say there are two chanes of me ever leaving now - none and SFA.. he he I might have to get 'i love ED' tatooed on my butt!
  12. Oh and a waitrose would rock! I'd love an M&S only from the perspective of I love their veggie crisp bakes and they are so bloomin hard to get it would be nice if there was one around the corner that stocks them..
  13. I'd love to see a veggie place - doesnt need to be strictly veggie/vegan only but if it was predom V but had a couple of meat dishes for the carnivorous among us that would be great! I am also love a noodles place, soup with noodles, noodles with chilli, noodles with mushroom, yummy udon noodles, rice noodles.. I could go on and on..
  14. Hey there, Anyone know of a good dietician or nutritionist in ED? I need someone who isnt NHS i.e. so I can go outside of Monday to Friday 9 - 5.. thanks J
  15. That weekend is my nan-in-law's bday so depending on when we have to go and do the family lunch thing we may be up for this.. I am loving this summer already..
  16. bl00dy hell wild horses couldnt drag me back!! Only thing I can think of that I would need to go back there is for the fish shop they have, they do great live feed for my goldfish and its just generally a great store - is there one in ED? And come on.. how could I leave the forum??
  17. Update on my original thread i.e. the one that was quoted - yay go me! My ex landlord emailed me this morning to say the person I had the last run in with at gippo hill has been sectioned under the mental health act.. As much as Im sorry for this person who has a mental illness I do feel slightly better knowing it wasnt just me over reacting.. Apparently she was harrassing the guy downstairs.. So glad we made the move to ED, not a single run in with anyone other than perfectly pleasant peeps..
  18. Mine also got done a few weeks back, Ive not been to that petrol station I have to say but certainly lots of other places in ED.. They tried to buy some train tickets and hsbc called me, anyhoo all sorted now but I guess its happening quite alot out here.. First time Ive ever fallen victim to something like this.. When I first came to the UK I didnt even know what identify fraud was (I think peeps in Oz are far too laid back to go to the trouble) but alas now my fraud cherry has been popped and Im shredding everything!!!
  19. Anyone got one of Ferris which is off Tyrell which is off Barry? I love all these old pictures... If I had a house big enough to have a library I think reckon i would have them all hung up..

It was great fun, except > for the poor couple that lived upstairs! No way > I'd have a party like that at my place now though! Ahem *clears throat*.. Not aaaaalllll Australians are crazy! *wink* Well I think possibly we all go through that phase when we get over here of throwing wicked house parties and then there seems to be a divide - the working holiday visa Aussie and then stayers.. Stayers dont tend to trash where they live because by then generally youve thrown your backpack and you have furniture so no chance of a quick getaway!!

(ps thanks for > the hifi- its great) ha ha ha yes Well you know you do the best you can with what youve got!! he he No problemo, sorry I didnt bring it down myself I was right in the middle of something and couldnt leave the house!! Hope it serves you well..
  22. david_carnell Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > @ Strawbs - at least I now know I'm taller than > 164cms!! I most definitely think anyone who sees you would think that!! I am a good measuring stick though it was only this weekend passed that we were measuring how long our new tv stand will be and I had to lay down and pretend I was that said piece of furniture to see how it would all fit!! We then ran in to trouble when we were trying to work out how long 32 inches was which thankfully is Jaws' inside leg so then she became the measuring stick! :))
  23. She Knows How To Rock Me, Carl Perkins
  24. I absolutely love love a good house party - at someone else's house... I love to host and organise events but honestly when it comes to a house party it all gets a little hectic for my liking.. worrying about the neighbours, worrying about the neighbours complaining to the landlord, red wine always somehow managing to be spilt on the carpet, cig burns from the crazy smokers hanging their heads out the window blah blah the list goes on and on.. So in short if you are having one we would love to come but when its my turn to organise one it will be down the Bishop! >:D<
  25. Im a metric girl all the way.. Australia only teaches metric and it took me atleast six months to remember how many pounds there were to a kilo!! Jaws only deals in faranheit which I find terribly odd to be honest and makes me think Im married to some really old lady!! ha ha @DC - Im the other way around - I know I am 164cms tall but only know it in feet and inches when a nurse measures me for a gp registration..
