Trains are running past Blackfriars this morning, I'm on the delayed 8.01 and it's busy but not crazy rammed, there was a Blackfriars train also scheduled to stop at pr at 8.10. Let's hope the flood issue is resolved and things get back to normal! -

I missed the 42 by 10 seconds so I can vouch for them leaving!! Then stood in the pi$$ing hail waiting for a 63 (yes I know I am moaning), anyhow bus was rammed but kudos to the driver who took as many of us as possible and Then bus cleared not long after at a tube station (sorry no idea which one but only a few stops after Blackfriars) so if you can hold on for a few stops then you are away.. -

Delayed 7.50 only 4 carriages - is this some kind of joke? People being left behind at every station. Surely on a limited service they can run 8 carriages or am I missing something here?! -

Train cancelled due to no driver!! Surely with wll the delays that are already in play they'd at least make sure they had drivers for th trains they are actually running? Getting seriously peeved now! -

It just gets better and better, train should have left 8 minutes ago but there is no driver for the train! Surely this is a delay that could have been avoided?! It's not like they didn't know the train was coming.... -

I am here now and you are right. It's a bit of a shambles as there is confusion what platform the train is coming in to but by all accounts it should be here soon. Thanks renata. -

do we know if there are trains running from Blackfriars to PR this afternoon? I am going to attempt to leave work early today in order to get home in time for the kids. I can see online there is a 5.12 direct to PR. (16.46 and 17.14 already showing as cancelled) -

Altered timetable (I try to get the 7.34) 7.20 or 7.50 were the before 8 options which I checked too late to get the 7.20. On the 7.50, it was delayed and obv busy but we got on which is the main thing as an announcement was made that it was already full before arriving at PR. I am hopeful there will be trains home from Blackfriars today! -

On the delayed 8.01 this morning and it's busy!! I do try and get the 7.34 when I can but childcare doesn't always allow for this unfortunately. I took these pics after the elephant and castle 'clear out' as you can see still pretty busy. I don't get stressed about not getting a seat tbh as I go to city thameslink so a pretty short journey but sometimes actually getting off the train is just as challenging as getting on!! In an ideal world we would have an extra couple of carriages, trains that aren't delayed as this leads to busier trains and another train between the 7.34 and 8.01 to try and relieve the pressure a bit - a girl can dream!! -
Sj that's super handy thank you! X

We had various people 'on call' so weekdays it was friends of ours with a child at the same nursery as our son who he knew extremely well and weekends a mix of MIL and our eldest's godparents. My waters broke at midnight so friend came over and stayed, her husband then brought their daughter to our house at 8am and took them both to nursery and collected them and brought my son back to my house to my MIL until my partner got home (I'd had the baby by the ), partner then dropped eldest at nursery the next morning and came to collect us off post natal. My advice is have a few good friends on call and be very clear about who is needed when and have them on call from 37 weeks as the day I told my friends that they now need to keep their phones off silent I went in to labour (37+1). I was stressed out if my mind about it but it all worked out fine. Good luck x

It will be the best christmas present you have ever had, lets hope he gets it for you!! (Otherwise get it for yourself as a xmas present I say!)
-
I am loving Christmas this year, the eldest (3) is now aware of what it all means so its a lot more fun. We are London based and having lamb for our Christmas dinner (I am not a huge fan of turkey) and roast potatos / roast sweet potato with honey, which we will eat whilst the baby sleeps! I have allocated myself a bottle of nice red and a cheese plate for the xmas present wrapping extravaganza on christmas eve.. B-R-I-N-G I-T!!
