  1. Hi, we went to the new cross clinic (actually a pharmacy). We took a packet of crisps for baby strawbs and he was so excited by them he didn't even make a noise or stop eating lol! He was perfectly fine with no reaction afterwards so the day just carried on as normal. Just to note we had to wait 4 weeks post his MMR to get it done. X
  2. Hi, it was ?70 per needle. Given how badly my eldest got it I just couldn't put baby strawbs through it so went down the vaccination route. X
  3. We just had our youngest vaccinated and it was very easy and straightforward. Two needles which were 4 weeks apart so if it's something you are thinking of better to get cracking so all can be done and dusted by the time baby arrives. We used 'citydoc' .
  4. I have a few tins at home, let me check the expiry when I get in x
  5. http://londonallergyconsultants.co.uk/ Mivi, here are the details of the person we saw at St Thomas', he was extremely thorough and as I am an anaphylaxis sufferer I wanted to be sure we were seeing someone who was on top of that particular subject. He was great with DS and really put him at ease even though he had to have blood drawn and scratch tests done. He also diagnosed the eczema he gets on the back of his arms and diagnosed that the facial swelling he was getting (which looked exactly like anaphylaxis) was actually a recurrent staph infection. It has completely put my mind at ease. x
  6. I didn't even know you could do the ergo on the back! I am going to try it this weekend, as always thank you for the tip! x
  7. Mivy also as I've said before change doctors, dmc are ridiculous. The gardens are very good with childhood allergies and reflux.
  8. We sa someone at the private allergy clinic at St Thomas' (separate building to th hospital). I will dig out the details for you. We have privat health cover with my work so it was totally covered but I did see the bills and it was frighteningly expensive!! Let me know if you want the details x
  9. Is ther such a thing at that age? My son is now toddling around so mostly we use the maclaren but find on outings with stairs like Hampton court palace it is restrictive just having the pram so I have been using the ergo. In theory it works fine as I love he ergo but his patience is running out with not being able to front face. As he has just started walking I am hesitant to invest in the ergo that front faces so any other suggestions? I thought about a backpack carrier but they look big and heavy! Thanks xxx
  10. Our then 2 year old got a new toy kitchen, he was absolutely made up, no concept it came from the baby but everybody seemed happy.
  11. I am with my fab hairdresser that comes to my house right now, she is colouring my hair. Her name is Carly give her a call on 07903 241 170.
  12. Toca boca ones are great
  13. What do we think is the right minimum age for the child in the top bunk? Mine aren't ready for them yet but is 4.5 years too young for the top? Or am I just overthinking it?
  14. Mamab would you mind letting me know how the consultation was? Lol re the carpet!!!
  15. Pickle Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "Ofcourse my childrens health are paramount and > come first" > > Then it's simple, vaccinate them. ^ that. Seriously. Do. It.
  16. I have thought about it many times, apparently a lift is much harder to recover from than implants so I am told and the scarring is not great. My sister had implants done in Thailand (she went flat as a pancake post her children) and they do look amazing! I don't have so much of a problem with loss of mass but they aren't quite where I'd like them to be.. Lol.. If you find a good place on your research trail let me know.
  17. I am having similar with my 3 year old but I think more bad dreams and thinking monsters will come out of the cupboard and get him. The screams are chilling and can happen up to 3 or 4 times a night on some nights and he is literally shaking in fear and screaming 'mama keep me safe', it is heartbreaking. We make sure his tv is very vanilla ie at the moment it is all about bubble guppies. All I have been able to do is sleep on his floor on a mattress for a week or so (tbh I got more sleep that way vs up and down all night) and keep reassuring him I am there and then gradually reduce that. I figure it is a phase albeit an upsetting one and he will eventually move through it. Good luck! Oh and we bought some dragons which he chose and strategically place them around his room at bed time of his choosing and he thinks they will protect him and that seems to be working at least to get him off to sleep. I am also going to make up a label and stick it on a can of Evian or something which is a monster spray so he can spray that everywhere before he goes to bed, maybe that might help!
  18. Oh mr Ben that would have been awesome but they come on the 18th, what rotten luck! So kind of you to offer though xxx
  19. Not sure if this is the right section but my sister and fianc? are coming to stay for a week in April. We may end up having to do the whole blow up bed situation but in terms of local accommodation options is there just the Victoria inn? I know there is airbnb but she doesnt fancy staying in a house with people she doesn't know. Our house is tight on space as it is so trying to find a solution that works. Thanks!
  20. Bonfire are you sure your 4 year old will start in feb ie will they be 5 by then? Toddler strawbe is due to turn 5 next year and will start the following jan.
  21. Sorry I was rushing that before I put toddler strawbe to bed. If you are likely to work in the cbd your train stations will more or less be wynyard , town hall or central station. I'm not knowledgable on schools as my eldest is 3 and I've been here for 10 years so can't help there sorry. You will quickly find a car is pretty important in Australia ad transport is nowhere near as frequent as here. Where is your temp accom? Tip for you buy all the swimsuits and Havana flip flops you can here as they are crazy expensive there. Cost of living in Sydney is high. Any other questions let me know.
  22. I'm a Sydney sider. Macquarie park will be the more tricky commute so go on to www.131500.com.au and look at commute times and timetables from places on the north shore as suggested above), also look up Hornsby heights as you get more for your money there, lane cove and crows nest are other ones but dont have a train station so it's a bus commute. Avoid eastern suburbs as mac park commute will be too hard. Mosman is where we are moving to next year but it has a ferry and bus service and no train station so unless you are going to get a car prob not an option for mac park.
  23. I am on the 7.09pm from city thameslink and it left perfectly on time so I am sure at 10 it will be ok. Good luck.
  24. 24 hour bus Strike on Thursday fyi..
