  1. Yes I posted about mine being stolen last week, I got quoted 1900+vat just for the part, Labour 300 and another 300 or so calibration. Pretty much a write off. And as you say doubtless will be lifted again. Not the only design fault I’ve had on this car with no recall (water ingress). Steering clear of VWs from now on.
  2. Don’t move this admin as it’s a general point. I couldn't work out why my VW Golf electrics weren’t working recently and just found my radar sensor has gone from front of the car. Looking it up it seems to be a four figure job to replace. Quick look around locally shows a couple of cars seem to have suffered similar. Apparently this a VW thing and you can’t do much about I but I would have either glued the part in or drilled out the screw heads if I had known. https://www.theguardian.com/business/article/2024/may/04/vw-cars-parts-theft-cruise-control-sensors-insurance-golf-passat
  3. “East Dulwich has always been an upwardly mobile sort of place,”
  4. It’s almost always a Landells/Landcroft rd mistake. Try knocking on the Landcroft number that corresponds to your property.
  5. I had my car ransacked on Wednesday night, I assumed I’d left it unlocked. It was unlocked again this morning though and I definitely locked it last night. The car was outside my front door and the keys near the door inside so I assume this is a relay theft issue with someone using a remote key reader. I would advise keeping keys away from the front door. I have reported to police.
  6. Just spotted this on a driving app - is this a thing now?
  7. Great, is the footpath from the Harvester open too?
  8. Nerding again: found this 1949 pic from Britain from Above website (free if you register) which appears to show damage in the Plough/Library area. This was a V2 hit but it seems the bank withstood this but the flats behind did not?
  9. Bombsight is blitz only, I was always frustrated that it didn’t show the 3 houses opposite me that had disappeared. The LCC one does show a bomb there and seems to cover the entire duration of the war. There was a baby blitz’ in Jan 44 so presume some of the non V1/2 damage was done then. The LCC maps have good info on degree of damage too. My house was ‘seriously damaged but repairable at cost’ - shame there’s no way of finding out more. Explains the pebbledash front though.
  10. Pretty sure I’ve seen a discussion before but can’t find it. Found a good map for SE22, very expandable and purchasable. https://m.londonpicturearchive.org.uk/view-item?i=343688&WINID=1722608152843
  11. It’s called the jogging track on the park maps. Perhaps grab one of the maintenance people in the park and ask them. I like it wild though.
  12. 148 Chinese for me

  14. Looking at it again they sent the PCN on 22nd December, I received it 17th Jan, so they probably relent for Xmas posting.
  15. Ha, yes an email, I didn’t spot the irony in that. Should dvla not have email addresses linked to V5s?
