Wetherspoons have been trying to sell this pub since 2015. All potential sales fell through as it is a listed building making it impossible to make any significant changes to the structure. Back in 2016 staff were told it had been sold to a cinema chain but sale fell through because of this. I believe lease expires in 2025 so wetherspoons are stuck with the capitol until then.

Two Brothers.... quite good fish and chips, they also deliver. Plus kebabs and burgers.

Well said Foxy, the grass lawn outside my girlfriend's flat on Dawson heights can have several foxes running around. They cause no problems and are a joy to watch. Great to see the cubs, still waiting this year!

For any table tennis players, I have just discovered a new venue in Peckham - All Saints Church Community Hall, Blenheim Grove, 9 SE15 4QS - behind All Saints Church. They actually conduct training sessions for all levels from beginner to advanced - ?10 for a 2-hour session, first session free. Normally Saturday 1100-1500 and Monday 1800-2200 except Easter Monday. Had my first session yesterday, very impressed! See www.pingpongtribe.com for more details.

If you do a search on the forum you will find interesting posts like this :- http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,147239,1896969#msg-1896969 Living on Dawson Heights is great, fantastic views and a very nice estate. Excellent children facilities. Worst problem is occasional loud music but you get this everywhere. Police Helicopter and road block experience on Friday night is very rare. -
Shooting in Lordship Lane opposite Grove Tavern
malcolmchurch replied to malcolmchurch's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Very surprised about lack of news reports. this is what I know happened. I travelled by bus to Overhill Road going south on Lordship Lane about 6pm. Heard lots of sirens and saw several police cars travelling at speed which overtook bus. Disembarked at Overhill Road bus stop and saw several police cars and an ambulance outside Bodi Salon. There was police blue tape cordoning off a rectangle outside the salon with several police talking to people inside the rectangle. An armed police officer was standing by his car on the road. There was just enough room to walk between the road and the police tape which I did and I visited Food and Wine (between Two Brothers and Bodi Salon). Made a purchase and the shopkeeper told me there had been a shooting at the Salon. On leaving the shop I spoke to another shopkeeper who I know personally and he told me somebody had been shot 3 times and the he had seen the perpetrator running away. All of the above is what I know happened. I did not "actually" see the shooting. -

The Capitalfm report says their shooting was Forest Hill Road, if so separate (but possibly connected) incident to Lordship Lane. -

Yes, I'm sure, I actually find your post a bit rude!
