Train???? They're only 3 :) Both my kids are there and I have absolutely no idea what happens in the assessment!! Like with most things with kids aged 3 it's how they wake up in the morning and whether they decide to play ball. I think assessing at this age is a joke but hey they have to choose some way don't they? I think the only thing that you could help with is separation and make sure that s/he is ok with leaving you as they do basically pluck them out of your arms and take them into a room (in a very nice way) so honestly, I think that's the only thing you can "train" for

I need to buy stocking fillers for my mother this year. Any help as to what I can buy and what shops on LL I can buy them from?

I just wanted to post about my fairy Godmother aka Bodsier (EDF name) or Lori in real life. After she read my blog she has offered me free reflexology sessions as she truly believes she can help me. I had my first session last night and she's absolutely lovely. She has told me not to expect anything immediate with my sleep so I can't update on that side of things but what I can say is having had a bad back every since having children and then putting it out properly a few weeks ago (every little movement has seemed painful recently) I woke up this morning and got out of bed feeling nothing - AMAZING. I've felt a few twinges today but only small. The change is truly incredible. So I just wanted to say if any of you had any body ailments and were thinking of reflexology then I can highly highly recommend her. Her number is: 07817097650

Thank you all so so much for your kind words. For those who are interested I've just written a quick update (see link below) on our week away for me to sleep. It was wonderful, truly wonderful. So fingers crossed after 7 nights of sleeping pills my body might have learnt a trick or two in how to stay asleep. http://pressiesbypebbles.com/our-week-away-sleeping-quick-update/

To the lady shouting for help on Friern Road at 2am
pebbles replied to pebbles's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Oh wow guys, thank you so much. I really have been beating myself up so just lovely to hear that we did good :) Fingers crossed she reads this and is able to just drop me a PM to reassure me -
I didn't know whether to post this but I've been really worrying about you. There was a lady at 2am last night Saturday night/Sunday morning who shouted for help twice on Friern Road (between Upland and Goodrich). I woke my husband and ran downstairs. She was running past my door so I ran with her asking if she was ok and she kept on asking me to go away and that she was fine (she was crying but clothes looked in tact but she was running without shoes on). I was bare footed so I ran back and got into the car. My husband saw the man that she was running from and got a good look. I followed the lady and caught her up (she went left onto Goodrich and continuing over St Dunstans). She kept on saying she was fine and to go away. What I did next I know was wrong but at the time I didn't know what to do. I turned around and left her to see if i could find the man that my husband saw. I should have followed her from a distance to make sure she got home ok. Please please don't comment on why I didn't do this cos I'm beating myself up as it is. When I got home to my husband he said that the man looked seriously drunk and walked up Friern Road. We phoned the police and gave descriptions and heard it drive by us about 5 minutes later. If you are the lady please please can you PM me and just let me know that you're ok.

I can't give an opinion of DUCKS but my son is now in reception at DPL having started in the Nursery and my daughter started Nursery at DPL this year. I have nothing but amazing things to say about it. So nurturing, caring and also encouraging. Last year in my son's nursery class I helped out 2 hours every Tuesday afternoon and it was just wonderful seeing first hand how they taught and had fun. I loved that the children that were maybe a bit shy were encouraged to come out of themselves (but in their own time) and then in turn the kids who were naturally boisterous and maybe a bit full on were encouraged to slow down and think about their actions. Honestly, there's so much I could say and all of them good. Please don't hesitate to PM me if you have any specific questions. And yes for us there was a big plus point that he could be there until 13 if we so wished. Good luck with your decision

At what age should your children fly the nest?
pebbles replied to TillieTrotter's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We all left home at 18 to go to uni but then returned afterwards (when we paid rent - not normal rent but enough to know we weren't having a free ride). The 3 of us then probably all left at about 24. However all to return at some point with wives/husbands/kids when we were finding somewhere to rent, buying a place and waiting for it to go through or doing a place up. I can't thank my mother enough for being so hospitable..... UNTIL now. She's currently homeless (has sold up in Herne Hill and waiting for place to go through) so she's living with us and although I love her to pieces suddenly being an adult with a family and having your mother living with you is a little bit difficult. So note to everyone, don't use parents as a hotel unless you are prepared to repay at some point -
I'm utterly overwhelmed by the feedback I've had on here and on my blog. I can't thank you all enough for the support and encouragement - I can't tell you how much it means to me. I've just left my children as Mr Pebbles and I are going away for a week. Suggested by my Sleep Psych but basically I'm going away to take sleeping pills for 8 nights (and not have to be up at 7 with the kids) in the vague hope that it might teach my body what it's like to sleep again. Once I've got over the initial sadness of saying goodbye to the kids we are now in a state of happiness - a week of walking, talking, reading AND sleeping - AMAZING. I've written about what has led us to going away here so would love you to read http://pressiesbypebbles.com/theres-always-a-silver-lining/

Thanks susyp - i've only just read your addition to your first post - so so so true. people don't understand why i struggle going away for the night and I have to be really "needy" when i say i have to have 2 bedrooms - i.e. i can't share with the kids - cos it just mucks things up even more than normal cos i have to lie there silently if i'm in their room together so totally totally get you re not doing moonwalk. thank you for confirming re reflexology - i'm feeling really positive about it. Thanks for your kind words xxx

Oh WorkingMummy, it's just horrendous it really is. I hope this comes out the way I mean but it's really reassuring knowing i'm not the only person awake all night!! I also just wanted to shout out for the most wonderful lady ever - I'm not going to mention her yet until she gives me the go ahead to out her - but I've had a wonderful email from a lady who practises in reflexology (not something that I've done yet) and she's cured another insomniac and she has offered me free reflexology once a week for 6-10 weeks to see whether it works. I burst into tears when I read her offer, truly amazingly generous. So I have huge hope and fingers, toes and everything crossed. Thinking of you WM - if you want to talk about anything that I've tried or just to talk you know where I am xxx

Hi everyone. Basically I started blogging and crafting because I spend every night awake as I've now been suffering from insomnia for nearly 8 years. I was very nervous about writing it as it's so very very personal however I hope that I might be able to pass on some advice to others or just so people know they're not alone in suffering from insomnia. Thanks for reading x http://pressiesbypebbles.com/to-sleep-or-not-to-sleep-thats-an-insomniacs-question/
