  1. Just wanted to give you all a quick update. I took the 3.04 from Forest Hill yesterday and I was inside Olympic Park by 3.45. A very easy and quick journey. Definitely recommend this route
  2. I lost 1/2 lb this week which i was absolutely thrilled about with all the Olympics and boozing i'm doing :) Exercise just hasn't happened at all this week and probably won't next week but back into it week after as I've got a 3km lake swim 2nd weekend of Sept - a little nervous now :) Hows everyone else doing?
  3. Yipee Nunheadmum :). We r twins :)
  4. Strawbs - I have looked at the Dukan but I like my alcohol too much which i can have on WW. I know quite a few friends who have lost weight very successfully on Dukan but they have all said they have had to change their lives and have stuggled with going out for dinner and having dinner parties etc. From what I can gather the first week will be hard for anyone but once veggies are reintroduced it gets easier but if like me you like fruit that's a no no as is alcohol. Whatever diet you decide on this thread is absolutely for you :) not just us WW people i promise. I think at the end of this I would like to be "a rower" - and obviously a female one :)
  5. ooooo i'm very jealous of hockey, badminton and table tennis - come on everyone - i want more shot putters and weight lifters :) xx
  6. Ha ha ha, if ever you want incentive to lose weight check out this link - it likens you to an athlete http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19050139 I'm laughing so much i can't type!!!! I don't know whether i really want to admit this but not only was i a man but also a weightlifter!!!!! I daren't think about what i would have been before my 3 1/2 stone weight loss!!!!! Actually i would have preferred that as at least i'm a woman - but a shot putter!!!!
  7. Thank so much everyone. I think we will definitely got FH to Stratford as seems like quickest and easiest So exciting Come on Team GB
  8. Great idea Georgina. I'm afraid I do have the time but if I didn't I would definitely use you - good luck Sorry I haven't been here for ages. Summer and Olympics proving a great distraction. Plodding along. My running has slowed down considerably due to having kids everyday and Mr Pebbles not getting home til late every night. Weight loss slowed down but understandably with the amount of summer and Olympic things i've got going - too much blooming alcohol. Am trying for an alcohol free week this week - fingers crossed. I'm still counting and still motivated just having a little summer slowdown!!!!
  9. I have to say don't waste your money for 1st parties. A cake so you can take the obligatory 1st bday party pictures. Try not to invite too many people so your little one doesn't freak out Agree balloons and ball pools would probably be your best bet for "entertainment" Definitely wine for the adults :) Have a wonderful day
  10. I also leave post on top on my laptop and I then deal with them when I turn on my computer as soon as kids are in bed - I do it before anything else... and if I don't i put it back ontop of my laptop ready to be reminded of it the next day :) I also get swamped down by washing (I don't iron and we send Mr Pebble's shirts out to be ironed) but I'm getting better. We are very lucky that we have a utility room so at least the mess is vaguely hidden. I now make sure every time i walk up the stairs I take a pile and then everything now is put away after bath and before reading books while kids play (muck up my neat piles) around me :) I've just been to stay with friends in USA and they have THE MOST AMAZING contraption I have ever seen - it's called an IRobot - http://www.amazon.co.uk/iRobot-Roomba-Vacuum-Cleaning-Robot/dp/B005QRXIFQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343720985&sr=8-1 Seriously expensive but wowowow. Basically you press go and it hoovers your floors all by itself. It's round with soft edges so it bounces off walls and furniture and then heads of in another direction. It's also pretty quiet. She just presses on after supper and lets it do it's stuff. They live in a big open plan house which obviously means it can do the whole of downstairs without her having to get involved and move it to another room. I stayed with them for 5 days and it never ceased to amaze me - if you have the money - invest :)
  11. Ooo fab that's what I wanted to hear. Fh to cw it is then Thanks
  12. Has anyone done this route changing at Canada Water? I have done it before the Olympics and it only took 30 mins but I'm concerned as to whether we will be able to get on a train at Canada Water? Any advice muchly appreciated
  13. Hi, we went today and it was fabulous :) No.12 bus literally goes to the door and only took 30 mins (it was first thing this morning though) We didn't need ID We got there at 8am and queued for 30 mins - started at 9am. Enjoy
  14. ha ha Pickle, me too :)
  15. What a lovely day - most of it. Went for a run, did some gardening and dried some clothes outside - bliss It really does make such a difference to my mood - i'm noticeably happier when it's dry and just a little bit sunny. I'm loving that lakeland airer - what a fab idea
  16. My friend is looking for an unexpected home birth story for her "How to delivery your baby at home in an emergency" section If anyone has gone through this and would like to write about it she would love to hear from you Let me know and I'll forward her email address to you
  17. I agree rain can sometimes be fun but My point is its summer We can jump in Puddles in autumn winter and spring Summer is for picnics, getting a tan and running through sprinklers
  18. I am really and truly fed up with this blooming weather. I just want to scream and scream and scream. And deep breath....
  19. Thanks for all your feedback. I have just spoken with my friend and home births and birthing centres are on her to do list so it will be there soon. Pls keep the feedback coming as its all v useful Thanks
  20. Hi DOD - it's not my dad but my mates but no he doesn't. There's no charge at all. They both just want to get the facts out there rather than future/new mothers getting confused. Great resource - my birth story is even on there :)
  21. Thanks for your lowly comments girls - I'll pass onto my friend
  22. I just wanted to let you all know about this new website created by a great friend of mine. See below what she says but basically her father is a top Obstetrician and if you have any questions re conceiving, being pregnant etc etc he will answer anything that you ask. There are also some great facts and stories to help you through everything that you may be going through. Please please take a look and don't hesitate to comment on anything that you may think she should add. If you like it please please like on Facebook and spread the word to your friends. Thanks, Sally http://doctoranddaughter.co.uk/ If you are pregnant, you are probably excited and delighted, but with a million questions to ask! How will my baby develop? What food should I avoid? How much exercise can I do? What kind of labour am I likely to have? What is it like to have a Caesarean Section? What do I need to buy for the baby? Googling will give you answers - but are they from reliable sources - or just anecdotal opinions? How would you like to have access to a top Obstetrician who has delivered thousands of babies at the best London Hospitals, who could answer all of these questions for you? During my pregnancy I was lucky enough to have access to this service, as that top Obstetrician is my Father! So now, together, we have developed a website for you. Our exclusive, Ask the Doctor facility offers you the opportunity to ask us your pregnancy-related questions, whilst our detailed but simple site will provide you with expert advice for every stage in your pregnancy.
  23. nunheadmum - thanks so much :) totally agree about doing walking or swimming. my son annoyingly broke up yesterday for his 9 weeks summer holidays (agh) so that also puts a bit of a stop to exercise!!! I do swim and love it but with husbands hours i.e. out before kids wake and home way after i want to exercise means weekdays i'm going to struggle. but i've had a lovely conversation with my mummy today and she has said i can go round to hers at 7.30am and she'll feed kids breakfast and i can run for an hour and then begin our day as normal (i'm very very very lucky to have a mummy so close by) I went out tonight which could have been quite big but instead i had 2 glasses of vino and had carrots and low fat houmous - totalling 12 points. Tomorrow kids have a bday party in Dulwich Psrk over lunchtime so i'm going to use the 2 hours to go for a run and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet :) I feel the same nunheadmum at weekends when i can't be bothered to go for a run but my husband basically says "so sweetie, do you want to do bath/bed for the 6th/7th time this week or would you like to go for a run for an hour - and guess what i go for.... run every time - amazing time off :) keep going everyone
  24. I'm having a shocker. Have put on 5lbs over last 3 weeks. Basically I haven't been counting and my knee playing up so haven't been running. I know I shouldn't complain but I've been to tennis, cricket, weekends without the kids and basically have been boozing and having too much fun and losing the way. I'm gutted to be honest. I pretty much haven't stopped crying all day cos I'm so annoyed with myself and fed up I've just got to count count count and watch my alcOhol consumption (and therefore my hungOver eating consumption!!) I've come so far but have so much more to go that if I'm not careful I'll be back where I started - I know I won't cos I won't let me (and nor will pickle let me!!!) So keep it up everyone. Don't make my mistake by putting head in the sand!! I will hit goal
  25. Thanks Fuchsia - interesting that he thinks it's a bit babyish - do you think he'd continue scooting if he had a more "manly" scooter :) I'm afraid I'm not going to sell it - odd as it may seem but i'm going to put it up in the attic for Grandkids!!!! my mother and also my in laws kept EVERYTHING and I appreciate it so much so I think while we still have attic space it would be nice to keep things that will hopefully come in useful in the future :)
