I live on East Dulwich Grove, the Lordship Lane end. The traffic is much worse. In the morning and in the afternoon it is almost stationary outside my house and backed up to Dulwich hospital and probably beyond. The fumes are awful. My air quality is now dreadful. My children and their friends walk up and down East Dulwich Grove at rush hour. The road is the main route for many children in East Dulwich to travel to Charter North Dulwich, Charter East Dulwich, Jags, Alleyns, Dulwich Hamlet, Dulwich infants, Goose Green. Their air quality on the walk to school has now deteriorated massively. The road has become more dangerous to cross. I've always been pretty laid back about local matters, but this is beyond daft. I've been moaned at about it by one paramedic, local businesses, the keeper of Goose Green school who lives there, and ALL my neighbours on the road. The side streets, Elsie, Derwent and Melbourne are now glorified car parks. No doubt the air quality is much nicer for these roads, and no doubt these residents find life quieter, but for the children who walk to school, for the businesses in the area, for the residents of East Dulwich Grove (many with young children) this is hell. We all want cleaner air, but this is concentrating fumes on two roads, Lordship Lane and East Dulwich Grove. It appears the council and fellow side street residents don't care about people who live on these roads, or have given a thought to the hundreds (yes hundreds) of children who walk down them every day. What on paper seems a solution to noisy campaigners is actually ill thought out and harms those who we should be looking out for most.

Just been to the press launch. It looks AMAZING. They're still finishing off bits and bobs, but it's a truly great addition to the Lane. Seats incredibly comfortable, and I can see over a tall person sitting in front of me. The bar area is lovely, and each screen has a different feel. Nice seats for two at the back. Hats off to the Picturehouse team, who've worked so hard. Very excited.

I am pro Harris, they provide outstanding schools for thousands of children across London. I'm pro Charter, pro Kingsdale, pro Sydenham Girls, pro Thomas the Apostle. They all try to serve the local community and, for the most part, do a bloody good job at it. We're very lucky we have such schools around us. Charter is a fantastic school and it's brilliant they're opening a second one. The school should be congratulated and encouraged, not knocked.

Our car was moved in the summer while we were away. No notice at all. We saw it from the taxi on the way back from the Airport, otherwise we would have presumed it stolen. Conway moved it for re-surfacing works. There should be a number you can phone.

We moved our child from Heber to DHJS. She has never looked back. Misses some of her friends, but her only regret is that she didn't move sooner. Much richer curriculum. Teaching better. More fun. They're more grown up and the children have a much greater sense of community and responsibility. Superb for sport and music. She's just read this post and says. "That's true". Do it. Sorry Heber.

Dear Burro e Salvia, Welcome to East Dulwich. Will you be making meat ravioli? Lina stores in Soho used to make the best veal ravioli, but since they have changed hands I've hated the new recipe. Hoping you will be making something wonderful.

Think the new FM looks fantastic. My kids can't wait to go. Great addition to the Lane. Hope they do well. Popped into Pretty's Tapas last night, just for a look at the menu. Very reasonable and looked great. How wonderful to live near a High Street with a such a great diversity of restaurants. Luckly, the people who run most of them take this forum with a large pinch of blood pressure salt.

That's probably because Harris are very good at opening new schools. Most are outstanding and they achieve excellent results. Their value added scores are amazing. Poor Harris.

Harris has 6 schools in Southwark. 5 are outstanding. 1 is good. They provide a fantastic education to thousands of local children. Well done Lord Harris. Askes, I'm sure, are not beyond lobbying those that work in the department for education, but regardless of any of that I agree with the sentiment of Tessa Jowell's original letter to Michael Gove.

I would like to add my support to a second Charter School in the area. It is an excellent inclusive school that has amazing results and has "outstanding" status. It provides a fantastic education to hundreds of children from many different backgrounds. It seems strange that people wish to knock such a success story. For the record both Harris Girls and Harris Boys are also outstanding. Harris Girls achieves amazing results that are going up every year. I'm sure Harris boys will also achieve fantastic results. Another MIXED Harris Academy would probably have been excellent. It seems strange that so many people wish to knock Charter and Harris. It seems equally strange that some of the more vocal East Dulwich politicians do not seem to fully support their local schools, in more ways than one; although credit should be given to the campaign for another secondary school. Haberdashers has many schools, some do well, some do not. As a Federation it has had many problems taking over or starting new schools. Charter and Harris, at least, have proven themselves already in East Dulwich. How lucky we are to have them on our doorstep. Lets hope Charter gets another one.

Good news to get a new secondry school, although I'm not sure Haberdshers is right. As a Federeration they seem to be extending themselves too far. They should probably be making sure the schools they do have under their control are working; their results are rather all over the place. I find it strange that a Southwark councillor is looking outside the borough for a provider. But then Mr Barber does send his children to Alleyns, and has never been a supporter (with his feet) of Southwark's many outstanding local state schools. Something, I'm sure, he does not wish to advertise. Politicians! One hopes the Lib Dems don't hi-jack this. They'd like to take credit for the new cinema too. Nothing to do with them. I hope the council looks to Charter which has excellent links with the borough's primary schools, is an outstanding school and has an excellent track record of opening a school and making it work. One only needs to look at Prendergast Vale to see how hard that can be.

The Charter School should be approached. It seems to tick nearly all the boxes and has a relationship with all primary schools in the area already. The two schools, depending on location, would be able to share some facilities and some specialist staff; Latin Mandarin???? It seems strange that people want to approach Haberdashers and Prendergast first. (Not all of their schools perform well).
