Thanks for this. I am trying my absolute best to not drive the car I can't afford to replace but am already ?50 in debt to TFL [on Autopay]. *A215 Denmark Hill / A2216 Champion Park *Peckham Rye/East Dulwich Road *'Lordship Lane'...not sure which bit as they try not to show you more than your registration plate. [two lanes, then an unbroken white line with red route double lines on opposite side if there is any detectives out there...]

Theodolites at Dunstan's and Upland Roads
Jacqui5254 replied to Nigello's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Southwark Council are asking local residents and businesses for feedback as to whether or not they should keep the 'temporary pavement widening measures on Dunstans and Upland Roads'. As a local resident, it's the first time I have been asked my opinion on this, one of many, parking, layout and road changes in the vicinity. -

How will the ULEZ be enforced in ED?

So, James are you saying that if, for example, I move my car from the next street to be near to my flat they will charge me ?11.50 each time? Cross-referencing it with any recent journeys paid for? I bought my car after the Government said diesel was better. I have to keep it for rare journeys. But current issues with reduced parking, builders vans, school parents drop-offs mean that we often have to park a long way from our home. To think that people will feel persecuted in this way is unbelievable. -
Another great job by Jon! Nothing is too much trouble and he really is a great guy! https://www.jonsmithscleaningservices.co.uk/

Albrighton Community Fridge - Volunteers Needed! (again!)
Jacqui5254 replied to ruffers's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Albrighton Community Fridge is a fantastic resource for our local area and families and individuals can get much-needed free food without a referral. More importantly, they are a fantastic team and helping a couple of hours or more a week is very rewarding. Highly recommend! -

Totally agree! Also, as we are months away from the extended Ulez zone there will need to be cameras on every corner. Maybe these new cameras are part of that plan? -
Forest Hill Road Group Practice

'Whoeveritis', I think it's appalling that you should call individuals out by name on a public forum and then proceed to slag them off. For what it's worth, Sue has been an absolutely wonderful and helpful receptionist in all the 8 years I have been a patient at FHR. That aside, no-one deserves to have to read your diatribe. Shame on you. I was just about to message you, ant12! I had an extra-clean of my slightly grubby Golf as I was due a grandaughter who may need transportation [!] and they did a fantastic job, including steam-cleaning the seats. That was a bit of a one-off but you can then have basic washes after that.

I took the 185 from Kings to ED today. A young woman got on and sat near me, she wasn't wearing a mask. I said " I have a spare mask, would you like it?" I also told her I had used hand sanitiser. She said thank you and wore it for the rest of the journey. Lets try to be kind to each other when we can.

So, they are going to block off Goodrich Road where it meets Dunstans "to tackle the issue of HGVs using the narrow road" now? I thought this was about the school? As this small section of road is completely full with the over-spill of residents parking every evening [since the extended double-yellows reduced spaces on Dunstans and others], we will not be driving round and round looking for a space but driving in and reversing out of this blocked-off piece of road. And so will other vehicles. Right outside the school. Which doesn't "improve air quality by restricting vehicle movement". Sigh.

Parking fine on Gowlett Road

This. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ?165 is pure extortion. > ?50 would be bad enough. It's meant to be a slap > on the wrist isn't it, not plunge you into > financial trouble. -
In my opinion, Goodrich Road isn't a 'cut through', its a residential road. Temporary barriers to protect schoolchildren by all means, but changing access in this way will result in all sorts of problems. What about access for larger vehicles, deliveries, building works, emergency vehicles? This road isn't wide enough for u-turns to be performed safely for all but the smallest car. Surely if you make a road a 'cul-de-sac' you have to make provision for vehicles to exit as well as enter? Giving the school the responsibility without discussing with residents is barmy. Everyone uses these roads differently and we know the ins and outs of accessing these roads, plus residents have different needs. When the council drastically reduced parking spaces by extending the double yellows on every corner, it increased the number of times the residents have to drive around Dunstans, Crebor and Goodrich roads trying to park. Altering this stretch of Goodrich will add another layer of complication which, in turn, will add to the more pollution and car use. Looking at the plans I think it was a project given to the 5yr olds..."how would you make this road safe for children to walk to the school" "Miss, Miss!! Put big lumps of something hard at each end and then no one can get in!" "Well done Timothy. We'll go with that."
