  1. I had latent labour for 3 days until my son arrived. I had exactly the same, 3 nights of contractions so painful I couldn't sleep and then every morning the contractions went away. At 10 days overdue, an aggressive sweep popped my waters and it all went pretty smoothly from there. But I just wanted to say that I totally feel for you. Those few days were a really difficult time for me. I hope everything gets moving soon. Best of luck :)
  2. New mum with not many friends here having spent formative London years in North London struggling with lovely 3 month old, weight loss and lack of sleep. I'd like a badge...and will look out for them from now on.
  3. Well done! And thanks to your advice about actually eating 40 points while breastfeeding, this week clocked in a 4lb loss!
  4. Real life crumpets Jane. It's ?2 I think and you get to help yourself. I have no willpower in these situations! Crumpets all over and butter down my chin.
  5. Nice to see people today. I'm thinking about going to the Crooked Well coffee and crumpets for mums and babies morning on Friday from 10.30am. They have a baby nutritionist there for questions this week. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Crooked-Well/202481859786147
  6. Hi Audrey, We met at the wooden circle group. Hope you're well? I'd like to come to family room drinks. Keep us posted. Jayne
  7. Well, I have a hand drawn chart on my kitchen cupboards with a whiteboard marker! I guess the teacher in me missed my markers too much while on mat leave! I also LOVE a good visible [reward] chart. It's placed brilliantly near all the food and I kind of like that my husband can see it every day too. Not that he would tell me off, more of the accountability I don't get because I don't go to a meeting. Have enjoyed things much more the last few days. Fingers crossed the 40 points a day will work! You all seem to be living proof that it does. :)
  8. Thanks Grotty and wow! it sounds like you've done a brilliant job of losing weight. Very encouraging. My son is only 3 months. Within two weeks I was back in my non-maternity clothes and was feeling pretty pleased with myself. Then I remembered I'd always been a size 16 for the last 5 years and never liked it :)
  9. Doesn't 'everyone' shop for their children's clothes in Liberty? :)
  10. On a more sensible note. What about a school cardigan, like John Lewis? http://www.johnlewis.com/77297/Product.aspx?source=63258&sku=230826390
  11. Ridiculously priced but how lovely.... http://www.liberty.co.uk/fcp/product/Liberty/Baby-Boy/Dylan-Navy-Cashmere-Mix-Cardigan-Caramel-baby&child/72756?utm_source=googlefeed&of_tid=bHa1KiJOVkWnBGE4lwE6wWKWbO_mW7z_4c6ehHTi8b6n6PFdFPs22PRedMGsRv7q Saw it the other day.
  12. I lost the full feeling at 2 months. My little fella is nearly 17lb at 3 1/2 months so I don't think he's going without [he's exclusively breastfed]. I did get worried when it first happened though.
  13. Thanks ladies, I'll report again next week. Maybe I should actually just go back to ww rather than being too tight to pay again! :)
  14. I walk with my husband to his work in Waterloo most days [from Peckham] with a hefty 3 month old in a sling. I've been keeping it to 29 points, admittedly only started a week ago, and haven't lost a stitch. Only used 20 weeklies. Maybe eating properly is the key? I was just hoping to feel very money supermarket after my first week!
  15. Please tell me if I'm being too nosy....but are you exercising too? I think I've got in a rut of eating utter rubbish and need to fix this!! :)
  16. May I just ask whether anyone is doing the propoints with the breastfeeding points attached? It seems like an awful lot of food?
  17. Could I come on Friday, toddlerless? Maybe just for the tea in the Orangerie bit? Although Jo and I did find our boys entertained by the fish at the Horniman. To let you all know about our 'only sleeping on lap for nap' situation. Last week I went all hard-core timings Gina Ford style and now have a boy who goes to sleep in his crib. After 4 days camping in Wales I expected it bad again yesterday, but no, he's all happy in there. I have a tidy flat again and feeling in my left arm. :) Hope you're all well. Jayne ps Any experience of 3 month jabs? Better or worse than 2 month/BCG?
  18. I second Camberwell Green Snappy Snaps. I had a right laugh there the day I got my 2 month old's pictures done.
  19. Thanks Rebecca. I needed to hear that, as I'd forgotten we'd also had the moving pram phase and only swaddled phase. I'll try the cushion, although the weird thing at the moment is I can't move him mid sleep? I've waited 30mins...to over an hour into his nap. Amos is a big boy too! I'm suffering from dead arms and pins and needles :) I would say though that I don't think he's enjoying the hot weather.
  20. Sorry to not see you all again today. I'm typing while Amos is asleep on my lap after a few days of feeling pretty rubbish as he will ONLY nap on my lap. No problem with bed time, but will not sleep anywhere else but me during the day. Not even the pram or sling. Any advice experienced mums? Jayne
  21. The George and Dragon pub in Burpham [nr Arundel] is lovely with very tasty food.
  22. Ladies, We'll be stuck at home tomorrow as after a trip to the GP it turns out Amos has gastroenteritis. Given the projectile vomiting, I don't want him to give it to any of you. Hope everyone is well. Jayne
  23. Sorry, I don't know what I was doing suggesting exercise tomorrow. Amos has his BCG. I'll make a plan for Tuesday before the Gardens and post it over the weekend. Enjoy your weekend everyone. Jayne
  24. Are people interested in starting this Friday? I will make report cards for exercises completed! Jenny, toddler attendance adds to the fun right? :)
