  1. Thank you everyone I did phone nhs direct and got some advice I was able to give him calprofen and he was fine last night , his room is always kept at 18/19 but I'm funny about leaving window open as we r ground floor house conversion and his room is at the front of the house ! Thanks for all your comments hopefully tonight I won't feel the need to check on him every hour Hollie
  2. Me again , As a nanny I no I shouldn't have to ask so many questions but all of a sudden not being able to clock off at 6 o'clock is becoming harder and harder So baby had his 3 rd set of jabs yesterday lunch time and during the night he woke me at 3am he was roasting with a tempture of 38.2 he had already had calpol so he couldn't have anymore I stayed awake until 6am keeping a eye on his tempture and after stripping him off to his nappy it went down to 37.5 . Today he woke up with big Rosie cheeks and has been a bit miserable all day , his gone to bed tonight with calpol and tempture is okay at the mo but has been up and down all day , Could this be because of his jabs ? I have read up that a huge number of cotdeaths are caused by over heating and now I'm freaking out What if his tempture rises to much in the night and Im asleep ? How high is too high ? He is only 4 months old (20 weeks) He has two teeth already but with didn't have problems with these two coming through maybe he has more coming that's y he is poorly , his also on new milk could it be that Should I stay awake all night to keep a check on him ? What would you do ?
  3. Nabs he is 4 an a half months , he has only had 4 feeds of the prescribed milk but already seems to be better for him Fruchia I don't think the hungry baby milk was the problem as he was only having one out of 6 feeds but was being sick throughout the whole day not just after feeds , Your right about the lactose intolerance as they said he would be losing weight if it was that and would be pooing lots and his quite the opposite only passing stool on e every 3 days most of the time Strawbs , Riley was on domperidone for 2 weeks but they told me to stop using it as it didn't make any difference and that's y now they are trying this milk , he passes stool once every 3 days and it's like balls of soft playdoe not what I would call baby poo but the Dr said its not related and Riley's bowel is possibly more developed than that of a 4 month old ! Not complaining its easy to clean up and he isn't in discomfort and his stomach is nice an soft Thanks for all you advice guys I'm going to see how we get on with this new milk he just had a feed and didn't seem to mind the taste this time x
  4. Wow that does sound the same Riley is in no discomfort what so every he is very happy and so strong , the thing is as iv already tried SMA , aptamil and this new one would it be right to try cow an gate as well does it affect them keep changing ? This new one says it breaks down much quicker than regular formula there for I suppose even if it's not reflux it would help him ? But I still want to get dairy into his diet can I manage that another way when weaning ? Thanks
  5. Oh thanks well I found a aptamil one which is 50% less lactose which I was going to try but the doc recones this new one will do the job , im just concerned that as his not lactose intolerant y am I removing it from his diet. Iv just look up this new milk am it sounds pretty good doesn't seem to be any down sides apart from the price and the smell

  7. I'm having lots of worries over which milk to give my baby boy he was bf for one month (I no I'm rubbish) and then I started him on SMA gold he was very constipated and gaining so much weight some1 recommended I change to aptamil so I did for the past 3 months he has had aptamil stage one during the day and hungry baby of a night he is constantly sick and weight has now stopped he only gains 1 or 2 oz every 2 weeks he loves his milk , the docs think he has reflux so have prescribed him milk called nutramigen lipil !!!!! He hates it and to be honest it smells discusting I don't blame him I mean he will drink it as his hungry but I feel bad that I am give my growing boy a milk free diet Bad mum ? Do I just continue with the lactose free milk or go back to aptamil ? My partner has just said he doesn't think baby is being sick that much so I shouldn't use the new milk ........... But the doctor prescribed it . Now I'm questioning my self a, I over reacting about his sick and is it really bad enough to remove milk from his diet Has anyone else had problems like these , I'm counting on you guys to keep me sane Hollie
  8. Oh silly me and of course didn't mean to offend anyone called Rory like I said I love the name
  9. Riley or Rory ?
  10. I thought the name we chose was unusual but no I am hearing it everywhere ! Riley Iv always like the name Rory too but think it only suits a child or raceing car not a adult
  11. Goodness me there are some extremely strange names coming up here please remember your children have to attend school at some point maybe not set them up for a life time of bullying you no how cruel kids can be , also some names just suit babies they are going to be teenagers and men don't forget ! Just saying
  12. Hiya I am a nanny with child (not looking for position at the mo) nannies charge around 10-12 net ph for more than one child they work what ever hours they are contracted for some work 12 hours a day but if you only need 5 hours a day that's what you advertise for , a nanny should do house hold duties such as cooking for the children and keeping the nursery clean and tidy and washing for the children . Nanny shear is the cheapest option or nanny with child I charge ?8.00 ph net Hope that helps a little you can find more info on nanny charges on simply child care Also a good place to look for a nanny Hollie
  13. We struggled with a boys name too we could only agree on one but my top 3 names are Riley Finley Harry All depends on your surname and baby number ones name Samuel seems to be very popular at the moment I love the name olly but as my name is Hollie it's a bit much haha
  14. I'm so sorry your not having a good time , just to let you no my boy 3months doesn't like cuddles or swaddling either he just likes to be laid down , is your baby in a Moses basket ? Riley didn't like that either so we put him in his cot after a few weeks and now tonight the first night in his own room , bit young I no but I think he is ready . Things will get easer , I hope you have luck with the night nanny I'd be happy to come over in the day for a few hours and keep him busy while you have a rest ? I'm a nanny with child Hollie x
  15. Is anyone thinking of going back to work yet ? Riley is 12 weeks old now and I'm looking to go back around september as a part time nanny and was hoping for a child of the same age so thought this was the best place to start , do you think it's too soon ? Is any1 looking for a nanny and open to the idea of nanny with child ? Thoughts please Hollie
  16. Thanks for all your replys it's very nice to know I don't have to start anytime soon he is quite happy with his milk although a greedy little boy I think I will start collecting bits along the way so it doesn't creep up an slap me in the face when I'm not ready , maybe in this time I should learn to cook butternut squash I hate it but I no its a great dish for the little ones Thanks everyone Maybe will be avoiding the wallpaper rice ! Hollie
  17. Baby boy is coming up to 3 months now and I have no idea how to wean or when I should start !!!!! Advice please good products and recipes will be nice too , and if anyone has and books for sale on this I'd love to buy Thanks Hollie
  18. 10 weeks old and shuffling on back around the entir room ! Normal ? Very funny and cute my little boy seems so strong anyone else having similar going ons ??

  20. I'm looking to start my own business and I'm good with working with wood I was thinking of making the following and wondered what sort of prices people would pay I can't show examples as iv not made any but just imagan they are exactly what you would hope for ..... Wooden memory boxes for baby keepsakes , weddings ect ( around A4 size ) with removable lid ? ? Wooden toy storage box with opening lid Small 3ft ? ? Medium 4ft ? ? Large 5 ft ? ? All would be made to order and personalised Is this something people would be interested in
  21. I'm a nanny with child so I'm in both ends of the boat And I only charge ?8.00 ph just for the recorded , I'm just saying I don't think mums should grumble about the cost of there younge ones to be cared for by the right person
  22. I would pay ?20 ph if I felt it was the right nanny , we are looking for people to step in as us to teach our children the ways of the world , for those of you who have jobs and get paid more than ph than u pay ur nanny I assume you do otherwise you would work , no job is more important than child care
  23. Vickster I think you will find simply child are and other nanny sites will tell you otherwise , if a nanny is doing babysitting of a night even if putting children to bed I think ?8 is a fare rate maybe a younge student would be cheaper , however child care during the day by a nanny who can ensure the day will be filled with fun activities and learning , cleaning , lunch ect can charge up to ?12 for one child , I think if you are paying a babysitter during the day ?8 ph they should still 100% do activities and park trips with your children but not be expected to do house chors or cooking (meals should be prepared ) remember people you are trusting these nannies, babysitters with the most important thing in your life (your children) find a nanny that's worth every penny don't find one that's the cheapest
  24. A baby sitter is someone who sit for you of a evening when children are in bed if you need child care during the day you need a ad hoc nanny who you should pay more than a babysitter
  25. Nanny PAYE are prity good never had any probs with them
