  1. seenbeen. I am asking in a spirit of enquiry because I had never conceived of the idea of disinfecting letter box/ gate. Do you really do this? The whole of the top of the gate? And again , I am interested - if there is virus it will be on the ground and thence on the soles of our shoes. Do you leave these outside or disinfect? Do you disinfect everything delivered or bought in a shop? I am not criticising or judging, we each do what we feel we need to. But I think one of the reasons I never embarked on any kind of disinfecting regime is I couldn't quite see where it would end, so I wondered what your take on this was.
  2. A traffic warden confirmed that to me as well
  3. From all the evidence I have read, he is not wrong. The risk of catching the virus outside is low. Most of the people who caught the virus caught it int he home, from household members. Inside, including shops carries more risks and crowded venues and public transport as well. Still no excuse for making you feel uncomfortable
  4. I'm not sure if you are serious or not. But if you are.....a tree surgeon?
  5. Hear, hear diable rouges post. It is the arrogance and lying I can't stand. And why does every new initiative have to be world beating
  6. I saw council workers watering young trees the other day.
  7. Because face covering is not much good at protecting yourself. Just stopping your germs spreading so much to other people. So if you are wearing a face mask people may well suppose that you have symptoms. Although of course if you do, you should not be out
  8. Looking at pictures it seems to be in the grounds of dulwich college
  9. Hi Blah blah You mentioned something I don't understand. You said "so it(lockdown) is a difficult thing to manage in a country that has no means to enforce it." But we have the same enforcement means, a police force, that other democratic european countries -France, Italy, Spain - have. What is the difference?
  10. TE44. Did you read my post before slamming it? Near the beginning I said "There is a debate to be had about freedom of speech" How do you get from that to "pp believes there is no room for discussion"? And I certainly did not say there should be no platform for anyone I believes breeds fear. If you want to appear reasonable you need to not misquote anyone who may have a different view from you
  11. Very good malumbu
  12. TE44 are you advocating for Judy Mikovits who is an anti-vaccination activist, and a conspiracy theorist? There is a debate to be had about freedom of speech but the problem with giving such people air time is that many gullible people believe them. Parents not vaccinating their children has led to a great deal of harm. And you only have to look at the ridiculous spectacle of people burning 5 g masts in the belief that they spread covoid 19 to realise what some people will believe.
  13. My family live in Sweden and their libraries have been re-opened. You order the books you want on line and then collect them outside the library. Could this be considered here?
  14. There must however be a powerful argument that this is the ideal time to undertake roadworks when there is so little traffic on the road. This does not help your individual situation of course. But I have found that zoom meetings are far more effective with headphones on, and good sound cancelling ones will also protect you against the noise.
  15. KidKruger - would Hitler have been the right person at any time?
  16. The link actually says Meatliquor in West London
  17. Why so rude Wordsworth? Gromit asked a simple question - no need to jump on it
  18. You've probably done this, but when the sae thing happened to me, the tried and trusted turning the pc off and then on again, worked. Good luck
  19. I find the most upsetting thing is the amount of surgical gloves left on pavements and now I am starting seeing surgical masks. It means that people care enough about their health to wear these things, but couldn't care less about other peoples health. I think it is disgraceful and if anyone were to be seen doing it they should be fined/arrested whatever.
  20. Dulwich Fox "It's Khan's Only objective on Everything he supports. Congestion Charge -- It's OK to Congest as long as you PAY ULEZ -- It's OK to pollute as long as you PAY." What a ridiculous statemement. The congestion charge lowered the amount of cars going into London, ULEZ has brought pollution down by 35%. They both make it clear that it is NOT ok to carry on as we are doing, as London is still an immensely congested city Maybe you could make a positive contribution to give your ideas of how we could go about bringing pollution down?
  21. Sue I have to disagree. What you can do and why has been repeated ad infinitum on all telecommunications channels. But some people just don't think it applies to them.
  22. Uncleglen What Blah blah said
  23. Still haven't got mine. Hope there was nothing urgent in it
  24. Uncleglen-I hope very much that Boris gets well. But I hate everything he stands for, certainly do not love him, and am amazed you can blithely say "the majority of us love you." Any evidence?
  25. I never got my letter from Boris. Did anyone?
