Interesting. I would point out however that you can't have it both ways. You are angry about bunching....."Nor can these transport halfwits stream their service at anything approaching equal times between buses - it's totally random, completely unpredictable. The most pronounced example is the convoy of multiple vehicles, with the resultant famine of provision for long periods before and after" but don't want "Buses remaining at stops for minutes on end while the company "regulates the service". Another triumphant technique of 21st century scheduling !" Damned if they do and damned if they don't?
>all of the vommit looks suspiciously similar Does no one remember the Billy Connolly rap about vomit. It always has chopped up carrot in it. + shame on EDF...it is voMit with 1 m
End of saga-lets hear it for the refuse departement. They came and took it away and because the call centre hadn't bothered to put the call through to them in the first place the refuse department didn't charge me!! A result all round And thanks for all your tips
I came out this morning to find a dead fox in my garden. My neighbour reports its back end is eaten and there are maggots! I ring the council and am told that they will charge me ?40 +VAT to come and collect it. I think this is taking the P***....I didn't ask the fox to use my garden for its deathbed. The helpful girl on the phone said if you leave it on the pavemement we have to collect it free but 1) I don't want to touch it 2) leave a maggoty fox on the pavement for children and pedestrians to step round???? To add insult to injury the VAT is ?8-since when does 15% of 40 come to 8? But I had given up by this time. Lets hope at least they come tomorrow morning before it starts getting really nasty.
I am overcome with admiration at the workings of the forum, how succesful it is and how much hard work it must take. My grateful thanks. it adds enormously to the enjoyment of living in East Dulwich for me.
TP asks what is the point of this post. It seems to me very important to remind forum users of the ED residents who do not have access to the internet, to cars or often even to bank accounts. This may mean old people or people on benefits or low wage. Post offices are incredibly important to them (and pretty useful for us if we want to post a parcel or registered letter!). Perhaps we should be using the undoubted power of the forum to try to help ensure that the post office does not disappear rather than just for lobbying for which flavour of ice cream scoop provides! PS the Tiramisu flavour was great.
In December I was despairing because my rescue cat had stayed under the sofa for 2 months. I posted for advice and was told that it was a matter of time and patience and you have been proved right. She is a delight
has anyone in the area got a leaflet through their letter box about what to do about swine flu. I am intrigued that after all the fanfare of them being rushed out, neither I, nor most of my friends, have had one.
I had a big clear out of garden sheds and rubbish. I called the council-really prompt and friendly reply and stuff was picked up the next day. I thought I got really good service. Maybe you rung the day after a collection?
It is June 5th for a week. The course + board and lodging cost ?300. You get yourself there....at the moment BA and Easyjet are both quoting about ?100 return to Thessaloniki which is the nearest airport. You can also go via Athens but the onward bus journey is a bit longer
