  1. Oh no . Such a loss and it's a proper garden centre and a proper family business . But good luck to them .. must be hard graft running that place .
  2. Fair play . I did this when I was around that age many years ago . Bloody hard work . Most kids are still good kids . I was in Macdonald's walworth road the other week . Load of school kids hanging around in the queue .. many with that ridiculous arrangement with their trousers hanging half way down their legs . This old lady walked in .. they literally cleared a way for her and let her through to get served first . It was really nice to see.
  3. Ffs jazzer . Maybe you should just be grateful for the volunteers that are doing this rather than just moan about shit . Thanks guys I imagine it's taken a lot of work . Looks great
  4. Surely you have to take the length of que into account as well longer the better ?

  6. The one on the old Kent road..think it's at 1.47 and people are blocking the okr queuing to turn right into it . Had to snap myself out of being part of the problem ..thankfully I dont need petrol to get to work or to see a sick relative .
  7. Scallops are still around in brum . 10p when I went to school. World away from scraps though .. big thick slice of potato fried . Suppose equivalent of fried chicken down here for school kids

    Football Focus

Nuno would be an excellent fit .
  14. We have two bikes hanging off the wall in the hall. Much better option . And my work bike is in a bike hanger which I pay a small monthly subscription for. But I think best mantra is . If you are too attached to it for it to be nicked..dont leave it outside whatever the lick . Hang it high up in hallway and then you will have room for the buggy
  15. think id have to get off the bike and do the walk of shame up that Malumbu
  16. I always make a detor to drive up Canobie Road if im in the vicinity of Brenchly Gardens ? amazing view but im sure its not doing my clutch any good going up there. we really are blessed with green space and views around here
  17. same here Wardy. I really enjoyed reading your stories. Funny how things of moved in a relatively short space of time. Even thinking of my childhood in the 70s and 80s - i imagine 'kids of today' couldn't believe it - what do you mean people used to smoke on buses?!! etc
  18. the irony is that there is probably some trendy with a moustache and short trousers wandering around in peckham with a goat coat these days but only cos its 'ironic'..or something..

  23. There is a global pandemic . People are off sick , people are ordering everything on line . And the posties are working their areas off. Think they deserve a pat of the back tbh . I do appreciate it's not great service but something has to give at the moment
  24. They are suppose like any form of transports there are idiots with them and considerate drivers..although seems the former is in the majority . I've had close calls as with them as a cyclist, pedestrian and motorist . Doesn't help that uniform of choice seems to be all black with balaclavas it seems . Helmets should be mandatory on them

    Boiler help

Likely it's the fuse. It may well be under warranty . Ours was ..but we forgot to register it at the beginning . Luckily managed to persuade them to come. Be aware though they will ask if it's been serviced regularly .. ours wasn't serviced annually. The plumber turned up and said they would normally need to see the service history in the log book but did us a favour and said if we couldn't 'find' the logbook he would do it anyway
