Using a buggy board with the mountain buggy duet?
newguy42 replied to omagem's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi, we also have the Lascal Maxi and Mountain Buggy Duet with the same ages as you. It works well because the 3 year old can stand inside the pram handle which keeps her contained (the handle has to be horizontal to get her there but goes up again when she's in place). -
Santa's Grotto at Brown and Green Cafe - Mayow Park, Sydenham

Thank you for posting this, it's close to us but I hadn't heard about it and have now booked for my 3 year old! -

We still have hot water and most taps (and a toilet, thankfully) but the main "drinking water" tap is off again - so hopefully they're still fixing everything so everyone is normal tomorrow.

We've had everything working again all day in Glennie. They have just started drilling again though so maybe they're tweaking something.

Hi. We're in Glennie - Thames Water are saying it's a Southwark issue and they (TW) won't send anyone out until tomorrow. We're phoning Southwark now but have you had any luck finding out what's going on (or hopefully getting better answers?!).

Horniman Museum has carols this Sunday as part of their Christmas Fair. It's usually very busy (lots of children!) and in the past they've handed out song sheets for the final carols so everyone sings along. http://www.horniman.ac.uk/visit/events/horniman-christmas-fair

Where can I buy a universal rain cover for buggy?
newguy42 replied to buttercupSE11's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Mothercare have their own range for strollers and 3-wheelers and most stores let you try them out if they stock the one you want so you can see if it fits. -
First Steps Montessori Upland rd - Feedback please
newguy42 replied to Susan's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Sorry Susan, no feedback but if you get anything interesting PM'd good or bad please let me know, we're looking at it too (for a 16 month old so I don't think we're competing for places!) -
Harris Free School Primary on Hospital Site
newguy42 replied to Lou's topic in The Family Room Discussion
James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi buggie, > 520 Lordship Lane would be my choice as a clear > primary school admissions black hole there. Definitely a black hole (we live in it, very close to the old Harvester site) but agree with Otta - this school is NOT going to help Nunhead. Also strongly feel consultation is needed with the local community wherever this school is placed before yet another Harris primary is inflicted on the area. A lot of people have very strong feelings about Harris and their dominance of the local education options and yet they keep being allowed and, it seems, positively encouraged to open new schools. -
Harris Free School Primary on Hospital Site
newguy42 replied to Lou's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The beginning of the other thread about the hospital site http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1229772,page=1 implies James thinks there is room for a primary school, secondary school and health clinics on the hospital site - I assume Harris has swept in as the primary? -
Life after a bugaboo bee...suggestions?!
newguy42 replied to SEGirl's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi We're in the same situation as you, with a one year old and an older bugaboo with rubbish rear wheels! According to this https://www.facebook.com/BugabooRepairGuy you can put the bugaboo bee plus rear wheels on an old bugaboo. We haven't got round to ordering any or trying it yet, but it might be worth a try if you're less lazy than us?! -
I don't have any personal experience of this (baby far too small!) but I've heard it's good and it looks like you can extend the day to 9-5. https://www.avpsports.co.uk/index.php?page=home-3

New East Dulwich Primary School 161/80 + 102
newguy42 replied to James Barber's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Sorry, maybe I should have been more clear. I didn't mean ethos as in the waffle mission statement paragraph all schools produce that don't mean much. I meant how the school is actually run, and how the staff and pupils are actually encouraged and taught in practise. I am delighted there's a local school - I just wish for me and my family that it wasn't yet another Harris one.
