  1. Hi, I have seen a cat two days on the trot on Lugard Road and I am not sure whether she is lost. She is wearing a pink/red collar but her fur looks a bit worse for wear and she is pregnant. She's a very friendly cat but I wonder if this is because she is hungry. Pictures attached. Please let me know if she is yours!
  2. I always go to London Bridge then to Gatwick. I suppose it depends which side of ED you live.
  3. Is it me or is there something funny going on with the pubs round here? Last night I went in the Bishop and it smelled like wkd mixed with sweat. The music in the EDT was terrible (although they have been playing awful chart rnb in there at the weekend for some time). The Cherry Tree was busy but the music was also pretty dire.
  4. Please please please somebody bring sushi/japanese food to East Dulwich!
  5. The White Hart is a nice pub. Failing that there are some bars a little further away near Southwark Station. I think one is called Jacks.
  6. I am actually baffled by some responses on here with regards to dogs! How many times do people have to be told it is a completely separate issue before they leave it alone?! Terig, you have explained the situation very clearly and have even clarified your points about the dog. Dog and bone spring to mind.
  7. Don't feel like an idiot, it could happen to anyone if the culprits are slick enough. Glad you are ok : )
  8. A lovely mostly independent high street!
  9. I live here and love it. Right next to the stn and Sainsburys. Know the neighbours and everyone seems to look out for each other.
  10. E dealer you sounds like a wet blanket! Welcome to East Dulwich guys, I am sure you will love it.
  11. My partner told me that he saw a teenager attempt to mug someone for their mobile on dog kennel hill near Sainsbury's last week. It was 6pm! The muggee was considerably bigger however and told him where to go. I am glad it wasn't me, I don't think I would have been able to do the same.
  12. Don't like to stereotype but I spent 2011 travelling the world and the Swiss were in my top three friendliest people along with Germans and Canadians!
  13. Thanks for the Camberwell tips, I didn't realise there were so many great places to eat! Palmerston is my favourite in general and for a Sunday roast. I didn't rate Dulwich Tandoori at all but it seems like there are a variety of opinions on here. The Thai cafe is BYOB which is always a bonus! My advice would be to get trying some places : )
  14. This is not just an ED thing, it's a London thing. ED is way friendlier than most other parts of London. I imagine somebod will jump straight on this but I couldn't believe how different London was from the Midlands when I first moved down here. London is a great place to live but people are just rude!
  15. I used to live in Brixton which I loved however, much prefer East Dulwich / Peckham Rye. It feels like a community plus a bit greener! Also I have had some great nights out here, it doesn't have to be sleepy. The 37 bus will get you to Brixton and like others have menrioned, the overground opens East London up. You wouldn't regret a move to SE London!
  16. I think I must be the only person who thought green and blue was massively overpriced (for food). I ordered a cheese board for ?10 and it consisted of 4 slivers of cheese! I love independant stores and restaurants but this was ridiculous!
  17. I hope this is not a serious question/post.
  18. Thanks for posting this, I also get frustrated with this train!
  19. Thanks for the info! Do you know where I get info re the dates/prices etc
  20. Hello everyone, This will be my first Autumn in London and I wondered what goes on for Halloween and bonfire night in the area. I imagine there will be something in Brockwell Park (for bonfire night) but would prefer something closer to home! Thanks
  21. Ate here last night. The decor and atmosphere was lovely - relaxed and contemporary. Three of us had a bellini cocktail and a starter each. We had a bottle of wine, 3 coffees and 3 main courses (2 of which were from the more expensive meat section of the menu) and the bill came to ?90! The service was perfect, not overbearing or complacent. The food was excellent value and I would recommend the ravioli and chicken with pesto. The mussels were also divine.
