My favourite bit of Steele's narrative is where the barman happens to tell him even more about the prices of drinks there, so he can slip in the cost of spirits and the house wine in addition to the beer prices 'trev' and 'peter' paid. It's painfully transparent.

Steele's message is absolutely comical! What kind of person knows that much about the price of the drinks he and his friends have? Clearly the owner/manager of the vale or similar.

But is Fenwick Road really ED? I always say I live in Peckham Rye myself. We are in SE15, after all...

I suspect this is a classic Lib Dem trick I've seen elsewhere - they will pretend it is some sort of important, official survey but actually it is just a way for them to gather information about you/your voting intentions/what issues you find important. Once had one sent to me by post saying "(Your Area) Residents' Survey" followed by questions on every topic you can imagine, then in tiny letters at the bottom "Printed & Promoted by the Liberal Democrats" (which they are legally obliged to put on all election material).

Hi Louisa, What is the cafe you refer to? Is it 'Starz' on East Dulwich road, between Tesco and the rye? I had always thought this looked a bit unwelcoming.

I have lived on Fenwick Road since September and have always felt very safe whatever time of the day and end of road I was walking from. I have not seen any gangs of youths hanging around - I think this must be a problem of the past! Welcome to the area, Jenni.
