Teenager son skin woes - any advice?
healey replied to DenmotherSmith's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Quinoderm 5 or 10 cream (Benzoyl Peroxide) around the sides of the nose, chin and mouth. Worked a treat for me and still occasionally use a dab even though my teenage years are long gone. -

Snobby of course, but I still wouldn't want that for my child. Egalitarian principles vanish when it comes to one's own kids. -

It's my opinion. I'm entitled to one without being insulted. Is that okay with you? You asked a question and I gave you answer. If you don't like it that's your problem, not mine.

IMac every time. Well worth it. They're very reliable. My parents used to have a Windows system and every month I'd get a phone call about some malware or other. Then they'd install Norton or some other useless equivalent that would grind the system to a halt. More phone calls. I virtually ordered them to get a Mac and after much grumbling about the price they got one. No phone calls since. Nothing wrong with a well built PC paired with Linux if you know how to use it, but Windows is utter junk in my opinion.

Skoda also worth a mention. Yet another VW company - no longer the joke cars of the 80s. Well made, reliable and not too expensive.

Seats are supposed to be well made due to the fact that they are owned by VW. I hear positive things about those. Audi are also owned by VW and are quality bits of kit but I hear they can be expensive to maintain. Talking of VW, what about a Golf?

I must admit to being somewhat puzzled by these complaints. I live directly under the flightpath and am oblivious to it. I do honestly wonder if it's possible for people to work themselves into an obsessive state and train themselves into hyper-sensitivity. In any case, the chance of things changing to suit the needs of anyone in East Dulwich is zero.

Very much doubt it. It going to be a private house, as far as I know.

Trying to buy a house in this area is near impossible

Rush aren't everyone's cup of tea (not even always mine thanks to their occassionally dire lyrics), but Alex Lifeson and bassist Geedy Lee are fantastic players. Tom Morello was a standout in the 90s. Fredrick Thordendal and Martin Hagstrom of Meshuggah are also great, but their music isn't for everyone! Quite hard to think of any new stars in our current era as rock seems to be in retreat at the moment.

Were you collecting a parcel today (Sat) at around 12.30pm?

Awwww.... Just keep waiting for the same train. I see the same faces every morning on the train. -

The co-op seems to manage just fine without any parking. These parking concerns are a straw man.

What's the worst that can happen with my overpriced building work?
healey replied to sarahew's topic in The Lounge
Stuff always happens. For our kitchen extension we found we had to move the main sewerage pipe, then the building firm went bust (due to problems with another project) so we had to pay the traders directly to finish the job. In the end we overran by 15% which considering the circumstances, was quite a result. Expect the unexpected! -
Looks good. Rye Lane has become a dump and badly needs improving. The internal square should be redeveloped. There are better places to site light industrial units.

Tell them to bring their own food? Expecting hosts to meet one's dietary preferences gets my back up a bit.

A Picturehouse would be great if they could make the sums add up. I would use it without a doubt.

"What an arsehole!" Me or the artist? I'll assume you mean me. If you're going to paint on a huge wall you need to get it right. Conor Harrington did, Remi didn't. Don't shoot the messenger!

The girl in that last mural is badly drawn, unfortunately. Her arm is too long and badly posed. The artist needs to get his anatomy up to scratch...
