I’d prefer the UK to be a republic, so not interested. However, if those who feel differently want to celebrate then it doesn’t bother me. That said, it’s 2023 not 1953 so shifting all the parked cars around here would be quite the feat!

Hypocrisy abounds on this subject. Easy to blame joggers but I see plenty of non-runners ambling, congregating, chatting, chasing after dogs, teaching kids to ride bikes, sunbathing etc. If the lockdown is to be sustainable it has to be flexible. A hard lockdown would lead to unrest within a month. There has to a balance between slowing the virus and imposing a medium-term lockdown that people can live with. Laying it all on runners is pure projection.

The idea of quieter areas over the Dulwich valley is likely more to do with spot perception than averaged reality. Flightradar shows alot of variation on turns into the final heathrow approach - a "cloud" over the whole area.

It certainly didn't work for us. Our house had a lean-to kitchen utility room extension when we bought it. We ripped it all out to create a open space with full-width patio and skylight - a common solution of course.

Travelling into Peckham to pick up parcels is ridiculous.

Going directly north to the West End (where I work) is a real pain. Other options are mostly okay when things are running properly. That's why the Bakerloo was originally meant to go to Camberwell. Still love it here though. IMHO the are few places better in the whole of London than this area.

So they just put a road maintenance block on the top of Dog Kennel/Champion! The bus companies didn't have diversions organised! Queue of 40s, 176s and 185s stuck on the hill!

Going north is where the problem lies. West End London currently takes an hour in various combinations. The original Bakerloo was meant to solve this.

Projectors need the right environment to shine. If it is anything less than very dark in the room your picture will look waehed out. Plus you have to hang the thing. Pull down screen etc. Go for a new TV. TVs these days sre incredibly good for the money.

charity shops take original CDs. As for licensing issues deriving from keeping hard drive copies, not sure of the details. However, as long as you aren't very publicly torrenting many thousands of files who on earth is ever going to care, seriously?

To be fair I can't see how E&C shopping centre could possibily be "ruined" by redevelopment.
