  5. We have today launched a Local Skills Swap wall here at The Great Exhibition. We are very excited about this concept, and already have two pledges!! First a private tuition in either Buisness or ICT GCSE from the head teacher of a local school, and a Clarinet, Saxophone or music theory lesson. We really hope to get as many people involved in this as possible, so please do come in and make your skill pledges!
  6. Thanks! We have some very exciting things planned so please do keep your eyes peeled and get involved :)
  7. I am writing from The Great Exhibition Pub and think that your idea of a local skills swap is brilliant. We are actually at the moment planning a Random Acts of Kindness Week to take place on the 11-17th February, and think that this could be a great addition to the events that we have planned. We were thinking of hosting a skills swap board, where you can come and post up the skills you have or want to swap? Any thoughts you have on this would be appreciated. Megan
  8. Haha thats wonderful, You'll all be very pleased to know that we already have a dancing, live music, drinking and fun livcence that pretty much covers all of the things you would want to do with yourself in a lively bustly place of a night time. We have Live music every Thursday, DJ's every Friday and Saturday (playing rock and roll, rare groove, northern soul and vintage 40's swing) all of the Dj's are there to play decent music without bursting your eardrums so you wont ever find us too loud or too thumpy with our music. If you like it vintage, you'll love it here. Oh and a quiz every Tuesday. Tonights jackpot is ?700!
  9. We are currently looking for bands to fill our yearly schedule of live music and DJ's. Do you know any interesting local bands that play something a little different from just the classic, Indie, rock and covers that traditionally play in pubs? If you do and you want to see them in YOUR local pub, then please ask them to contact Dan by emailing [email protected] or post a link to their music in a comment below. At the moment we have a 20's Swing Band, a Prohibition Jazz band, a ukelele band, a 50's americana accordianist and a new orleans soul and blues guitarist. maybe you already know the next band that can fit into our fun and interesting profile of music. Looking forward to hearing from you
