Pearson, (and others) have you considered butting out of a conversation that doesn't concern you? Not sure why you feel the need to be so rudely superior to everyone who isn't as amazing as you seem to think you are. I am bothered about this. We have two small children who regularly wake about the same time as the planes start. After we've settled them we're then kept awake by planes flying directly over our heads every couple of minutes. My wife occasionally wears earplugs, I don't as I want to be able to hear my children when they wake up. It would be nice to be able to go back to sleep after that so I can be fully effective at my high powered job and keep the British economy ticking over ... (irony) So I'm grateful to SplendidLike Peckham for posting this link and will follow it up. That is the point of consultations after all ...
