  1. Once, we went punting, in Oxford, when I was a kid. and we found an abandoned punt. we towed it back to the punt hire place, and they gave us the deposit on one punt back, IE about ?50 (remember this was 20 years ago) Nice.
  2. Angels, or indeed anything by the talentless dancing hell-hobbit Robbie Williams
  3. I was on Blue Peter singing when I was a Brownie, (with a load of other Brownies).
  4. so is no one else feeling the 'pandemic' drug shout everytime they mention pandemic on the news? just me then.
  5. that's very cool. although was it odd to hear mcnulty speak without a Baltimore voice? Anyway, you know how in the wire, when they are on the corners selling the package, often in the background you can hear them shouting the name of it?.........well one name that they shout in at least 2 episodes is 'pandemic' which is all I can think at the moment when they say it on the news. is this just me?
  6. Thank-you very much to Marmora Man for lending me a sander which I took ages to give back. I still owe him a bottle of wine.
  7. Arsenal
  8. So sandperson, were you there on Friday? I was, I'm trying to work out who you are!
  9. I was there for lunch today. It's nice........ it's more of the same, just smartened up a bit.
  10. "Anna Friel, like I just got home, Anna Friel"
  11. I went to the CPT swim training last Friday and I'm going again tomorrow. There are some hardcore types, and there are some more normal folk like me. It was a very good swim, a bit of variety, drills, using floats etc... I can never be arsed to do that on my own. Being a normal swimmer was fine, nobody laughed in my face! come on Ladygooner I'll see you there maybe?
  12. are you talking about the wire or deadwood gatecrasher?
  13. I think that Allfornun hates the fence that divides Goose Green. the one that they put up then talked about taking down for ages.
  14. I couldnt give a toss about the running around around kicking balls business either. do the crossword. a good way to spend a weekend afternoon, or better still get some afternoon delight with someone else who thinks sport on TV is rubbish. then do the crossword.
  15. it's true this seems like a set up. especially that rubbish about the boy being in a career the longest. although there was an article in the family section of the saturday guardian about this very thing a few weeks ago. If you have that money 'spare' why not spend it on a fab holiday every year for the whole family? or let them each choose an expensive and time consuming hobby and spend it on that? Or save it so they can all go on to university (if they want) and not have to work in a call centre/bar/strip club to pay their rent while they do it?
  16. Hi, yes ruffers that is what I mean. There are some hidden gems on there but sometimes too hidden. I have pretty broad tastes so I'm just looking for any good things you may hvae found recently, like the stax album recomended by capt-birdseye. I just got some ladyhawke, ryan adams, ladytron and tv on the radio. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any good finds. I just saw spottify at someone's house and I think I might get it as it looked fab, almost too good to be true! I also love the last.fm
  17. Is John Prescott trying to give protesters ideas?

Hi friendly forumites. Does anyone else use emusic? and do you have any reccomendations of stuff that's on there? sometimes I waste my downloads as I dont have time to browse properly. which is a crying shame in these credit crunch times.

    Great Gigs

I'd love to see him do a greatest hits set. I dont know about the cash though. I did see the cure at the o2 last week. That was really very good indeed.
  22. Just finished the end of series 5. sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit that was good. I might start the whole thing again now with the extras where the writers chat about each episode. but what to fill the void with? am enjoying this series of Dexter as well though. a lot of sauce in there!
  23. Hey Shosh glad to hear you got in on the mud and sweat action. Did you get to hold hands/mingle sweat with any hot stuff? are you signing up for more? I shall be going again on Thursday.
  24. This seems a bit late in the thread but I went along to that British Military Fitness training. I would suggest having your manicure after attending the Saturday session as it was a bit strenuous. But fun! and there were fit types of all gender for eye candy. and you get to hold hands sometimes. So it's worth doing.
