It is deeply irresponsible to be posting patient related information that could identify them, including institutions they may or may not have connections with on social media. How would you feel if it was you or a family member? Do us all a favour and get deleting.

Sick of these guys. It's all a scam (charity address on their products turned out to be fake when I checked). As there are so many I always say "some of you guys were round last week and I brought loads then" usually works as they think someone has done the area already.

Filtered permeability needs to be introduced in the area. Works well in Hackney.

As with other CPZs those with driveways will have double yellows across, plus the area will be patrolled. That will stop people parking across driveways.

As this is exactly the point, many of these cars would have turned up on these roads and made it even worse, had it not been for controls going in here (late!). The point I was making was about annual permit costs. The work car permit would be tax deduct able, and even then is ?4.60 a week really much compared to total car running costs? I don't know your circumstances, but you could possibly insure your nanny on your vehicle at little or no premium increase. I think when it gets to the point where residents are having to pay ?2.80 an hour to park on Vestry road because lack of space it's getting silly. It's so tight we have people with disabled bays getting their places pinched by able bodied drivers. There will be winners and losers, but other areas with controlled parking seem to manage. They are aware of this and will be postponing the start date of permits purchased to start on October 2nd

I doubt ?2.40 a week prices people out of car ownership. VED, fuel costs, depreciation, servicing, tyres, etc. far outweigh that in comparison. Three CPZs just came into force down the road, and it's coming to Grove park soon. Support for one here was only ever going to rise.

The council have been late putting in the signs! Apparently temporary ones are going in this week.

If it doesn't come through in time the nearest free parking is around Grove park and Chadwick road

Indeed, they are self perpetuating. Things change very quickly in adjacent areas when they go in, as we found out in the toast rack. Bellenden Road area will be next, then around Lordship lane because of the numerous bus routes. I'm afraid this just bounced the issue to to next place,but there are way too many people using cars for commuting not because they have to but because they can.

A majority is still a majority I'm afraid, that's way it works, as long as the rules have been adhered to. I live in the next area, our CPZ going live on October 2nd, along with 3 other areas in south east London. You will noticed a marked change in parking after that. It may even change your mind. I would have opposed one a few years ago but it's so bad now I am all for it starting

I keep hearing this myth that CPZs are pushed by councils for revenue generation. This is a complete falsehood, they are only allowed to cover the costs of running, consulting and implementing CPZs. If they make a profit it is ring fenced for transport. This is laid down in national law. It is illegal to use them for revenue generation. If you think this is happening you should report them for the Council Ombudsman. They can only be put in with a majority decision as well. Queen's Road Peckham just rejected one on consultation so if Southwark do have an agenda clearly it isn't universal.

Grove Park/Dog Kennel under CPZ consultation now - they will get one. Then Bellenden Road area will be next and finally East Dulwich. It's inevitable.

Apparently the councillors have just signed off a CPZ for the area. Going in in June I've heard, weekdays only, all day.

I for one am a local resident who would welcome safer cycling facilities/cycle lanes. I drive/cycle/walk through the area several times a week. From what I see people who choose to drive will not be stopped from doing so, yet we have the possibility of providing safer passage for more vulnerable road users.

In the Shenley/Crofton Road area of Camberwell we have just successfully lobbied the council for another consultation. The reason the parking has got so much worse is the introduction of 5 new CPZs around King's College Hospital in the last 6 years. These are in both Lambeth and Southwark. If we get one I'm afraid the issue may get worse down the road in Peckham Rye/East Dulwich. The major problem is commuters to the hospital and also to the local train stations and bus stops on the main road. No one is keen on them, but our adjacent CPZs do have more parking capacity during the day.

Hi Leigh, The petition is only to get a consultation, no CPZ would ever be put in purely on the basis of a petition. Everyone can have their say either way if a consultation is done. Hi Man City, I've been down Denman a couple of times during the day. I agree with you - parking doesn't seem a issue. However on the roads to the west of you it's become a total nightmare! Crofton used to be OK too, until the double yellows got put in... Hi Jacqui, I lived in the Rye Lane CPZ for 2.5 years. It was fine, no problems at all. Always plenty of parking. I now have to put up with no parking on Crofton Road during weekdays and would gladly have one!

Not entirely. It is caused by commuters mostly. They turn up en mass every morning and head off to the stations and bus stops down the road. The issue is caused by our proximity to a major road into central London.

Hi Abe, Yes, in the surrounding area there are always spaces on Maude/Wilson/Grace's/Dagmar Roads and Lyndhurst Way (CPZ streets). People who don't want to pay use our roads as do commuters. If they were full I wouldn't want a CPZ to be honest.

A few years have now passed since this topic was first raised. Since the double yellow lines went in we have found that the parking situation has got much worse. We are a group of residents campaigning for a another CPZ consultation on Bushey Hill, Crofton and Shenley Roads (plus the side roads off Shenley) If you would like more information please follow us on Twitter at @SE5Parking or email SE5carparkingzones@gmail.com So far we have noticed strong support for another consultation, even from people previously opposed to a CPZ. With the building of a large development of new flats on the Peckham Road, plus large developments near Camberwell Green the situation is only going to get worse. We are running a petition over the next few weeks, and if we get enough signatures the councillors have agreed to another consultation. Ideally we would want restricted parking for a couple of hours around lunchtime to deter all day parkers, whilst allowing deliveries and visitors.
