  1. Thanks for the quick response James
  2. I have been twice to the pool now for Jelly Babies with my baby and think the facilities are great and the temperature now seems fine. However - there are no flip down changing tables for babies (even in the disabled changing rooms?!) and no nappy bins that I can find. I mentioned this to the staff at the desk and they too were incredulous that all this money had been spent but they had completely forgotten about the changing tables and nappy bins. There seems to be plenty of room in the disabled changing cubicles and the toilets to attach the tables....they asked me to fill in the comment form which I did as apparently they are addressing it. James - it would be useful if this could be prioritised....find it quite ridiculous that this was overlooked in the design process?! Thanks
  3. I would perhaps try changing brand to see if it helps as they are all slightly different shape - we used the sainsburys eco brand (green packets) and rarely had leaks - but I have had a few leaks with Pampers - must be something to do with my baby's shape!
  4. Mamas and Papas on regent Street is superb - there is a cafe upstairs with lovely sofas & tables (and high chairs) where you can have lunch or a drink and feed. Also very clean changing facilities and you can even buy baby food....private and discreet...they have a baby mat and some other toys too so very baby friendly as you can imagine.
  5. We\ve mainly used Sainsbury's own brand eco ones (green packets) and have had no problems at all. Have also used Huggies o Pampers when abroad or couldn't get hold of Sainsburys ones and we actually prefer the shape and capacity of sainsburys much more. Agree above though - babies are all different shapes so one type does not suit all. However, it is cheaper if you are able to use the own brand and yes, keep an eye on the half price 'weeks' at sainsburys and stock up (also on wipes!)
  6. Ha ha...I too have an 11 month old who in the last few weeks has started to develop tantrums. She eats and sleeps well but just like you Pebbles, she arches her back, screams and kicks her legs if something's not going the right way. She is also quite physical - trying to grab my/my husband's eyes, grabbing other babies' hair etc.....am worried it will last a long time I have noticed that I can distract her from her little 'rages' with a toy or something different but overall she has definitely worked out that she is able to influence her environment. I don;t have other children so have nothing to compare with!
  7. I too have the BT 150 monitor and can highly recommend...she is now 11 months and we have used it abroad often and at various peoples houses as well as at a wedding...when it's out of the charging dock the battery lasts a long time and it picks up everything you need to hear. Personally I did not want to get a sensor one as I think they make you paranoid and pick up all sorts of things that will just keep you awake at night and a video sensor is down to personal opinion. I now have it on the low volume at night so I only hear her if she actually cries rather than her shuffling around. The only gripe I would say is that it is quite bright if you have it on your bedside table - so i tend to cover it with my iPhone cover or a sock!
  8. This is really useful- thanks Jelly Babies at Dulwich Centre starts at 11am on Mondays btw - not 10.30am.
  9. My little lady did exactly the same when she was small and being breastfed...I think she used to go every 5 - 7 days for a few weeks, then more regularly again. She showed no signs of discomfort etc I however got concerned and all the health visitor suggested was squeezing a few drops of freshly squeezed orange juice into a bottle of sterilised water and seeing if she will take a few mls..to help her along.
  10. My best present was a basket of muffins, cakes, biscuits from somewhere like that Beverly Hills bakery....a real treat !
  11. Yes Adrian....there are definitely a few dads at bumps and babes on Monday Goose Green.....!
  12. I know...where did it go? Thanks Linzkg - will have a look.....S must be walking by now?!! Park soon?
  13. Thanks for your help - yes you are right re Nellys - just found out myself! Will have a look at Asquiths too.
  14. My 10 month old is about to embark on a 4 day week nannyshare. However, thinking ahead I will want to put her into nursery for the 5th day when she is two - i.e 14 months from now! I wondered if people had any experience of Gumboots or Nelly's? I can't get on the waiting list for the Villa. Nelly's in West Dulwich are opening another premises this month - not an ideal location for me in East Dulwich but I have heard good things. Does anyone have a little one there? Also - it's 74 pounds for one day which seems a bit steep? Does anyone have any other good recommendations for a 2 year old? Thanks
  15. Someone today mentioned a Scout Hut in West Dulwich/Dulwich for a children's party....not sure where it is but might be worth a look on the internet
  16. I am about to embark on a nannyshare and think we need some Employer Liability insurance. Can anyone recommend a good provider please? Thanks
  17. As others have said it may not be the grapes as if it is a noro type virus this can be from anything and according to the doctors you can all eat the same thing but not all of you will be affected as some people are immune to the norovirus. So you could have all eaten the same thing 24 hours before you got sick but one or two of you would still be ok
  18. Yes - the chameleon is as good as it looks - buy on the forum or ebay though as very pricey....
  19. Try Bumps and Babes on Friday morning - 10am - 12pm at St Faiths centre on Red Post Hill....it's run by Alice a teacher from NCT and is very friendly. I popped along last week to say hello to Alice and there were a number of mums with 10 - 12 week old babies too. Hope that helps
  20. HeidiHi - I am sure you promised many posts ago that it was going to be your last post??! Shall we call it time now ladies and gents?
  21. Our 9 month old has been in grobags since about 1 month. She started rolling a few months ago and now always sleeps on her side or tummy. She seems perfectly able to move around the cot, go from back to front to side without any restriction! She now even manages to sit up in the cot in her grobag. She slept in just a nappy a few weeks ago when it was so hot - unfortunately she then was able to take her nappy off in the morning and then got upset when she was lieing in a wet patch! Was glad when it cooled down again so she could sleep in her grobag.
  22. Ha ha....Tinkerbell our little ones should get together and have a chat - my 8 month old still has the same gagging problem with bits but conversely loves her fruity purees but refuses the vegetable ones. I have sneaked in vegetables in the Ella's purees (i.e swede/apple/spinach or broccoli/pear/peas) etc but need to think of other ways to get her to like just vegetables!
  23. I too think you should have left alone. It's her choice afterall - everyone knows you shouldn't smoke when pregnant but it's not illegal and we live in a society when people make their own choices and take their own risks. I understand that it is shocking and makes you feel angry but it really is none of your business. On the topic, a very well educated colleague of mine in New York went to her doctor whilst pregnant saying she had ridiculous cravings for a cigarette and was finding it hard. The doctor said she should have a cigarette as (he said) one or two during pregnancy has no effect! I think most people would disagree but interesting view.
  24. Hello - sorry to jump in your post but has anyone been to the Lido this week? Is it totally overrun and unpleasant or is it pretty nice? Thinking of going with babies and mums..... Thanks
