  1. Just wondered if any one with this skin condition felt able to share their skin care regime? I need to adjust mine but am wary of spending lots of dish on fancy French brands. With thanks
  2. Always have a good feed at Waterloo Bar and Kitchen, just past Old Vic. And the hidden Tas down the side of Anchor and Hope under the arches.
  3. And just in case you have same problems we've had with skips - companies are not allowed to deliver or collect them before 8am. We had one firm dropping skips off and collecting at 645, really antisocial and noisy. The team at Southwark were great at listening to complaints and stopping the firms concerned. But do please complain if you have same problems!
  4. Pedlar looks to have a large table that could seat that many - kind of in an alcove so it looks like a private booth.
  5. Hi admin, sent a couple of replies to PMs today but they don't seem to get sent. Works if I PM direct to sender but not when replying to a message.
  6. Me, missed a few series though and kicking myself!
  7. In central London there is a good cobbler on Sicilian Avenue, and another on Goodge St. The latter is particularly good.
  8. This is a really silly question I'm sure but how do I get companies to come and do designs? I've tried a few but they all seem to want you to sign up to their sales in principle based on designs done in store before they'll come out in person. I've got a very odd kitchen and really need designer to come round in person. Maybe I'm giving out t he wrong gibes!!
  9. Hmm. I watch Freeview via BT Vision so that's possibly different to if you watch via an aerial. Here is the link to the Freeview 'how to get new channels' page though http://www.freeview.co.uk/when-to-re-tune - in case it helps. London Live has been on since about March.
  10. London Live is on channel 8 in the London TV region - as Rolo says you just need to do a retune/scan fir new channels and it should appear.
  11. Me too RPC. Especially at this time of year when I can just about drag myself out of bed to go to work, long day, arrive home at 7 in the dark etc. last things I want to do are go for a brisk walk in dark, wet and cold. And warm comfort food always seems order of the day. Brain knows what to do but willpower is frankly rubbish.
  12. I like "two floors" on Kingly Street (just behind Carnaby St) for cocktails. Laid back and a little scruffy but never too busy or hip during the day....
  13. Went to the trial run for new place on Peckham Rye today. Opens properly on Tuesday. Called Pedlar, near the Blue Tit hairdressers. Very lovely food, lovely staff, lovely drinks.
  14. I went to the Holborn a Dining Rooms at the Rosewood , Holborn this morning. Lovely room and quite festive but slightly irritated to have the ma?tre d 'high five' me at 800am. The food was ok, but not as good as Dean St and more expensive.
  15. Dean Street Townhouse on, er, Dean St, Soho is pretty good too. Need to book even at 8.30.

    Chippy

Always enjoy Codfellas chips on Bellenden Road.
  17. I'm on Denman and firmly oppose a CPZ but... Skips!!! I couldn't help but agree with you on this. And I'd be grateful for any views. The people across the road from me are having major conversion work done and so far have had a noisy skip lorry swapping a full skip for an empty one every single day for over a week at 7am or before. Bearing in mind building works can't start until 8am how come this level of disruption is allowed? Rant and post hijacking over.
  18. My 92 yr old computer phobic father in law bought himself a Tesco own brand tablet. It's been quite a struggle for him to get to grips with it and he has to have a notebook at his side with hand written instructions on how to do everything as there is no one who lives nearby who can help. But it works for him and, importantly, if he does get fed up with it, it hasn't cost the earth.
  19. Thanks all - I really appreciate the ideas. I had wondered about Frozen but (not knowing very many 7 yr old girls) had no idea if it was right age bracket!
  20. I'd really appreciate some ideas. I don't get to see her very often, maybe twice a year so I don't know likes and dislikes too well. Not so easy for me to find out either. But would like to get get something she won't find either way too young or too old. My only clues are that she's 'quite grown up for a 7 yr old', liked pink and girly things when younger and loves One Direction.... Any good ideas for things majority of 7 yr old girls might like? With thanks...
  21. We live in a two bedroom flat arranged over two floors (so pretty much like a small house). We have one dehumidifier which we leave on either the landing or the hall and it keeps condensation under control everywhere. We do keep it on 24 hours but it's automatic setting means it switches off when air is dry and turns on when humidity rises. It's also really important to keep lids on pans and run extractor fan when cooking. We now only suffer with light condensation when it's really cold and we've done a lot of cooking and we 're drying washing (at same time). Do check out the meaco site - it's really helpful.
  22. You could try a dehumidifier before swapping the windows. We have same problem - sodden windows as soon as temp drops and unable to leave open. But the dehumidifier is fab, stops most of the soggy windows, keeps flat bit warmer and helps to dry washing too. We got ours online from meaco who have good selection.
  23. That's good to know. We have a phantom poo-er who seems to be ready to do its business every other day on our drive.
