  1. And the trees in case I'm referring to are on neighbours land ie not the persons applying for a basement to be built. So the cutting them down and getting rid of problem risk doesn't apply. (The backland development plot near me is absolutely tiny hence why trees in neighbours gardens likely to be affected)
  2. I have an existing backland development behind me. On a tiny plot but was there when I moved in. Now wants to dig a basement. I was wondering about impact on surrounding gardens very large and mature trees - wouldn't digging basement affect roots, therefore affect tree and therefore risk heave/subsidence if damaged? Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this sort of risk?

  4. Think there was an article about this in Peckham Peculiar an issue or so ago. Not really any more than this though
  5. Glad I asked.... I get the 'avoid RSD' point of view. But I love it. I buy new vinyl every other week and just love record shops. RSD is just a celebration of that for me. I was one of those sad people queuing in Soho at 430am, got a stack of lovely stuff that I really wanted and will be hanging onto even though I could a) flog for ??? on eBay or b) in some cases buy for less than I paid for it - but I'll do neither because it's not about the cash. Enjoyed hearing about some localism places I'd not heard of before from posts above and I'll check them out. And looking forward to the Pelican fair!

  11. I just wanted to report my very positive experience with DMC Chadwick Rd recently. First, I needed a nurse appt - rang, got one on a convenient date and an ideal time Two, I needed to book a non-urgent Dr appt ie longstanding condition I needed to discuss progress on, again got appt at great date and time Third, today, I neededan urgent discussion with Dr. Called at 8, five people ahead of me on phone, once through I asked for phone consultation, Dr called me back at 915 and on basis of call I was in the surgery at 2pm

  14. Not quite supermarket convenience, but I like the veggie things from the stall on Northcross Rd market. Lovely spicy beanburgers, lasagne, leek and mushroom slice. Always keep a couple in freezer for this lazy moments.
  15. Sue, has the acoustic glass really made a difference? Was thinking of getting sashs double glazed with it but wasn't sure if it was one of these emperors new clothes things...
  16. Quite enjoyed last night - but finding the whole jumping on a horse and riding over to the uncles and back faintly amusing. Just how many times will we see him riding that same cliff path....
