Favourite music releases and best gigs of the year
mancity68 replied to Earl Aelfheah's topic in The Lounge
Oh yes! Flaming Lips at Troxy. Forgot about that one. My memory is terrible! That was pretty epic. Also, now I’ve had a week to think on it, Black Country, New Road at Shepherds Bush was pretty cool too. -

Killing Joke at the 100 Club was pretty cool. Love the new PJ Harvey album. What else? Young Fathers smashed it live. What were yours? -
Not wholly identical but elements of similarity and this broker has been great for us https://www.lansdowninsurance.com/

Still enjoying new look but……I have to log in every time I visit. Is this my local settings or the site?

Query re flying from EU to UK & NHS Covid pass
mancity68 replied to IlonaM's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We are just back and did NOT need to show the pass when returning to UK. Make sure you get the International covid pass when you download. I only found out there was a different one a few days before we flew and doing what was needed to register took a while! -
In defence of the noise team?. I rang on Saturday for an exceedingly loud party. They explained that they had to assess the noise from inside a bedroom and was I happy to let them do that. Ok, it sounded ridiculous and I really wasn?t happy, but I wasn?t happy about the noise either so I said yes. They turned up within 20 mins of their callback to me and could obviously hear how loud the party was from my front door but they explained they could only take formal action if it had been assessed from inside a bedroom. They were in my house and bedroom for less than 20 secs to complete their formalities and within 20 mins had gone to the party and got the music shut off. I agree that the ?hear from a bedroom? rule seems absolutely crazy and not something a lone female is likely to agree to, sadly. But I also appreciate that those are the constraints that the team has to work within. And what a horrible, scary job they have and I?m pleased that on this occasion they were able to resolve the issue, not just for me but for the many streets that were being affected by this loud party.

Yep. Absolutely loads of it. Horrible. Council had painted the ?pick up your dog mess? stencils on pavements near me but not made blind bit of difference.

Our house is a conversion with bathroom at front of house. Soil pipe boxed in and drops down through kitchen which is also at front of house (we have a weird layout!). We do have a macerater for the loo but not the bath/sink, the drop is fine for that. The poo chewer has been totally fine and they are loads better than they used to be. To be honest, to mitigate risk, we have a ?liquid only? rule for that loo and really crappy thin loo paper but with another loo in the house that?s fine?. (I feel I am straying dangerously close to Foxy?s thread so will stop now!) Actually, the only real downside is that we don?t have an extractor fan as we?d need to put it on front wall of house and I think there is some weird planning rule about not having an extractor on the front?
