Bday party ideas for 13yo girl please!
Cheryl_M replied to Cheryl_M's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you both! I am looking into escape rooms, hadn't thought of that so thank you. -
Struggling to think what to do for my daughter's 13th bday, so any ideas welcome! Or if anyone knows of any good, reasonably priced venues around Dulwich area for hire, please let me know.

Does anyone know the best way to contact Dulwich Dolphins?
-
Another strong recommendation for Roger. He visited my flat this morning -- yes he is still working at the moment!! His professionalism and communication makes a horrid problem much better.

Thanks all! I will get in touch with a few people today. Many thanks x

Can anyone recommend a company or an individual who does bike lessons for kids? I know there is one in Battersea Park but they don't have any dates that suit. Thanks

Does anyone have a child here, particularly Year 2? I know I'm gatecrashing the ED forum when the school comes under West Dulwich/Norwood but have only recently moved from ED to WD. Our 6yo daughter has been given a place here and wondered if anyone had any feedback on the school and in particular afterschool clubs? Many thanks Cheryl

Advice needed on school wrap around care

Actually I had never thought of an au pair but I'll definitely look into it. Good to have stability and someone my daughter could have a good relationship with. Thanks. -
Advice needed on school wrap around care
Cheryl_M replied to UlStED's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'm gonna be in the same position in September. I think my daughter, who will be starting year 2, will be going to different people each day! Can anyone let me know how much a childminder generally charges for morning drop off or pick up after school until 6:30pm? -
After School Clubs in East Dulwich September 2018
Cheryl_M replied to semgrilo's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks redjam and jacqueline25! I think for us we will have to go down the route of a childminder which is actually the option my daughter would prefer. So now onto finding a good and reliable one ... -
After School Clubs in East Dulwich September 2018

I'm interested in this thread also. My partner, 6yo and I are moving back to London during the holidays and am wondering about breakfast and afterschool clubs. -
question about child maintenance
Cheryl_M replied to hellosailor's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My niece is going through the same thing and the solicitor has told her he only has to pay ?400 per month including everything. He chose to live 300 miles away with his new girlfriend but my niece has to pay half of his travelling costs! He says its too far to see his son at his own home and have to leave his pregnant girlfriend alone. Obviously a male judge decided that one! Good luck and big hug hellosailor x -
Would you move your child from one nursery to another?
Cheryl_M replied to Sarie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I had the same problem when my lo was 8 months old, she was constantly crying when I dropped her off at nursery and again when I picked her up and looked so relieved when I collected her. I left it a couple of months then found a fantastic childminder and saw such a difference in her. Good luck -
Aaaah I remember those days! Its a great way to meet people and ED is constantly full of new mummies. My LO is nearly 4 now but I met some really lovely mums and babies through this forum and still in touch with a couple of them now. Enjoy :)

I have promised myself that when younger family members start to have their own family, I will not be as interfering as people have been towards me! Thanks again Cheryl

Thanks a million Saffron! Sometimes it feels never-ending but have to remind myself it's my daughter who's sick, not me! She loves honey lemon and garlic in some warm water when she's sick so hope that's helping in some way. Hopefully when summer makes an appearance, we will all feel better 😀

Hi Saffron, thanks so much for your message. She's had 2 swabs taken from the back of her throat over the last few months to determine whether bacterial or viral and both have came back showing viral infections. I honestly know nothing about what should be prescribed so I'll glad of your message. I'll do some research and your info will give me some ammunition to go back to the GP. Thanks again x

I wondered if anyone had any advice or recommendations on alternative medicine for my 3yo daughter. Since November she has had 6 or 7 viruses, only getting around 1 week or 10 days break before the next one kicks in. Her immune system isn't getting the chance to build up because my family put me under so much pressure "go to the doctors" or "get back to the doctor she needs more antibiotics". I'm completely done with that now so wondered if anyone has any tips on alternative medicine I could give her. She's burst a blood vessel in her throat due to coughing so much. The hospital said she needs a chest x-ray but various GPs are saying she's perfectly healthy and normal! Many thanks.

Hi there I had my 3 year old daughter at Kings and had a good experience. I had requested an epidural in my birth plan and even though I wasn't in any pain, they were more than happy to give it to me as soon as I was in labour. It disconnected halfway through and I had a bit of pain but it was soon rectified. Good luck and enjoy motherhood x

Thanks ladies. We didn't make it to the sing-a-long as LO is full of cold and cough so we're watching it on DVD for the 4th day in a row. The joys of parenthood!

Family friendly pub with play area
Cheryl_M replied to Cheryl_M's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks a lot everyone! I'll call them all this week. Cheers. -
I'm taking my 3 year old to a Frozen singalong on Monday and ordered an Elsa dress from Amazon which came this morning but the sleeves and neckline are of a horrid itchy hard material so she screamed when I put it on her! Any suggestions what I can do? I put a long sleeved tshirt on underneath but it didn't really help. Much appreciated.

I'd like to have birthday drinks soon with about 20 people and have a few friends with kids who would like to come along. Can anyone recommend a great pub with a play area so adults can get peace to chat at some point! Not too fussed if its local or not, anywhere south or central London will do. Cheers!
