  1. Simply Fresh has had the lease for over a year and yet they haven't even started a shopfit or applied for an alcohol licence. Shepherd's were paying ?48k rent and the Estate wanted ?80k, so no wonder they left - and would a Simply Fresh make enough profit? Doubt it.
  2. It's in the detail. You would have had to tease out info at the exhibitions.
  3. Has anyone seen the plans the Dulwich Estate have announced, for West Dulwich and Dulwich village? And the fact there is another shop closure at Herne Hill, following Mimosa now the wine shop has gone. They are trying to make Dulwich Village a food venue that people from outside the area will visit for high end food. All of a sudden it becomes clear why they have been relatively quiet for a couple of years and have now suddenly exploded with activity. Seen where the Alleyn Park Garden Centre is having to move to as their old site has housing will be built on it? The CE Simone (whoever)is going to make the place like Borough Market and not a place you could just go to a shop to buy some eggs and a newspaper. At present you need to get the bus or brave being mugged in the park to get to Sainsbury's at the Plough.
  4. Don't you just hate things called Ye Olde Sweete shop or variations on the theme?
  5. They even have a Facebook page but they don't look at it.
  6. The woman bringing up the issue of monies raised by events having to go back in to that park - a court of appeal ruling - was Mrs Patsy Bramble, Chair of the Dulwich Society licensing Committee.
  7. Except it has been announced the Head Gardener of Dulwich Park is not being replaced.
  8. It went down the drain when George Adam left. The worst experiences me and my family have ever had at a surgery and we were fortunate to come geographically under a brilliant alternative - Brockwell Park Surgery. (Overlapping catchments) The most amazing doctors, attitude and NO GLASS between you and the very nice reception they have.
  9. This offence comes only a few weeks after a sexual assault in Dulwich Park, in broad daylight.
  10. The article says that exam integrity is protected: "Exams watchdog Ofqual said special measures are being put in place to ensure this year?s exams are secure...." I am as suspicious of Carbonara as she apparently is about me!! I'm innocent Guv. Just curious about what is going on. And surely at whatever school or public body, if there are big clouds like this, the information is better in public than covered up, if there is something happening not quite right. You have to admit the inquiry has taken an inordinate amount of time by anyone's values.
  11. Haven't actually heard any bad things about the other schools in the area I am interested in.
  12. I think the comments removed are from the Evening Standard, not on here. There is probably a legal issue with one of them, or something.
  13. "I would like to congratulate Metallic on her 51 posts on the EDF - 47 of which are about Kingsdale." It is the reason I came on here actually, I am most interested in schools not posts about anything else.
  14. Very good point. However I think that whatever happened won't happen again (if it happened!!) so you needn't worry about your child. What I would worry about would be the integrity of whoever allowed it, if they are still on the staff and whatever happened is proved. And you are also correct about one thing, I wouldn't apply for a place to send my child there if it turns out to be true.
  15. Well I am awaiting one great reveal or another in the same way. As I have written previously, I am looking at schools and this ongoing situation is just too fascinating, especially when you do not hear any such stuff about any other secondary school in the area.
  16. "Exams watchdog Ofqual said special measures are being put in place to ensure this year?s exams are secure but refused to comment on the delays." "A spokeswoman for the OCR exam board said the investigation was ongoing." No, no news in that article at all. And that OCR quote is a comment by the way.
  17. Well here is a bolt from the EDF archives come back to say hello to all those defending parents or whoever they were..... http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/education/result-of-cheat-probe-at-kingsdale-foundation-school-praised-by-david-cameron-was-kept-secret-7793203.html Imagine my surprise on seeing that. So it isn't all done and dusted. At least this year's Year 11 pupils will have some safeguards if indeed the allegations from last year were true.
  18. Maybe the teachers are just off sick. It is the worst term for bugs after all.
  19. Oh no, not again. Can I ask a question? If the school staff are so content why are there so many off work that they need supply teachers for a year 9 class in two subjects?
