  1. Penguin68 I was just reading the charter school thread and Can?t help noticing how many of your posts are anti the ex Lib Dem Councillor. Why bother? 2. Anyone else without water?
  3. One.... sleep.... till.... Christmas
  4. Thought so! I wasn?t channelling Christmas at the time. Will find a way to make amends!
  5. Hi, I just got a haircut and feel like my hairdresser was expecting a tip. I would have felt a total knob handing a professional some cash. What is the etiquette? Do hairdresser in Ed expect tips?
  6. The lady one. My kids jaws dropped as she walked past. It was fab.
  7. Very exciting, plus new secondary school opening in Jan, thank you!
  8. It does seem a bit nuts to be blaming the councillors. Mind you I?m saying that just having had a lovely hot bath. Hope the water stays on this time!
  9. Still no water. Today we are all getting a bit stinky.
  10. Hi, Low water pressure has just turned into no water, are we alone?
  11. We run an Internet business from home and my kids homework is mostly on line. It?s been a very very stressful few weeks trying to run our lives through our mobile phones. Going to quit VM ASAP and suggest that no one else locally signs up to this service (if you can call it that!).
  12. You could ask his primary school if they would like him to run a club?
  13. Do report it, its probably really hard to get the info but Ofo could provide the ID of the person on the hire bike.
  14. I?m not a fan of kids and unrestrict Internet use so we use a brick. They need to be safe, ESP if their journey to school is long but they really don?t massivly need the Internet on a phone.
  15. I didn?t see this post on the forum yesterday and thought, phew, it?s been taken down because it?s so very toxic. I was wrong. FYI Robert posts child a lot of disabilities are invisable. E.g. someone with MS could possibly walk ok to the shop from the car to shop but it may well knock them out for the rest of the day. Casual disability discrimination, like casual racism, is on the rise. People don?t always realise that they are spreading hate so it?s somethjng to watch out for.
  16. A fight between the rights of those with disabilities v families with kids. Keep it classy EDF.
  17. I thought it was a bit of a bodge when i saw them putting the tiles on. You can try to dress it up as acceptable but its blatantly not going to last as long as real brick. As already shown. A lot of modern new builds are built with a very short term view of looking good long enough to sell. Peckham Rye is about to get hundreds of new build 2 bed flats. I hope they have planed a bit further ahead.
  18. Velux blackout blinds? Keep them down from the morning to the late afternoon and the room should stay cool. It works in our loft.
  19. Vaillant or Worcester bosh are both highly recommended, often. Never heard of Keston, might be because your house has an unusual set up? Or the plumber is on commission? Installation can cost lots more than the boiler itself so its worth a couple of hundred more to get one that is well known as reliable. Also if its a well known brand it will be easier to find people to maintain it or fix it one day.
  20. The guy in the post office was always the nicest, friendliest person you could hope to meet. Sorry to see them go.
  21. Hi Ruffers, I?m not massively against the event but needed to balance the idea of 0% damage or it being the same as sport damage. There are deep tractor prints over sections of the event area, deep enough to twist an ankle in parts. It needs some kind of roller as it won?t just flatten out. The grass will grow back fast enough this time of year if encouraged. We do need to ensure that event organisers leave the site in a respectful sustainable manner and suggesting that there was no damage will not achieve that. ruffers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Out of the entire park the churned up areas are > what? 0.00?.....% > > If we want to get like that I'm sure someone > playing sport (who probably didn't pay a whacking > fee to use it) has at times chewed up a little > bit... 22. Hi Sue, You could always volunteer for helping out. The friends of Peckham rye are just a volunteers i think so you can't complain to them. But they have really helped to improve the park. http://www.peckhamryepark.org/opportunities/
  23. It was a good vibe when we walked past in the evening and we could not hear too much noise BUT people up the hill got totally bombarded as there was no buffer between them and the stage. One friend said she was in tears by Monday night with the constant base. They got away with it this year. It was kept small, weather was good and they had a lot of bouncers. It made the council some money (love to know how much), but did little for local people, esp as not family friendly. It?s a very small park for this kind of thing. Given the impact on those up the hill on a bank holiday weekend I would say it was not worth it.
