  6. There is a new gift / book shop in Nunhead called Material near Nisa. Some really interesting books in there, and some qwirky kids books too. well worth a look.
  7. I like those scotch eggs! Am I wrong to?! 8. Thanks for this. As a Nunheader I'm getting a little bored of our transport options being reduced, even so slightly.
  9. There is a newish Korean on Lewisham Way near New Cross Gate called Paranhodu. Well worth a look! 10. We're interested in doing this too - would anyone mind sharing roughly how much the whole process cost you? Thanks in advance.
  11. I somehow managed to squeeze on at Queens Road Peckham, but certainly didn't make any friends. The trains are actually making life misery at the moment. When I moved to the area 5 years ago I had 8 trains per hour to London bridge. Now I have 1, delayed and four car. Its just a joke.
  12. Mamma Dough at Queens Road Peckham is open.
  13. I second the one on Evelina Road - great wash/vac and ?2 cheaper on Tuesdays.
  14. 17 minutes to go...
  15. I just walked past napura in Nunhead, (the Portuguese chicken place) re-opened after a long closure. Looks great - big dining room in the from now. Menu is on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/bynapura/

  17. I've got such high hopes for John the Unicorn - with its big double frontage on Rye Lane. Will definitely be checking it out over the weekend.
  18. Thanks for the info Renata. There is a new quite randomly placed charging cashpoint in Nunhead - one of those free-standing on the street things joined with a payphone. It's up the other end - outside 2sisters Indian. It's ?1.50 for withdrawals and I've never seen anyone use it.
  19. I liked Dead Dolls, nice to have something different. Anyway has anyone tried The Habit - the new place in Nunhead now Bambini's has closed?
  20. We went to Berlin immediately after Christmas one year and that was great. Busy, everywhere open, Christmas markets still around (do check this), etc etc. Our 2 year old had a great time.
  21. SEnewbie Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Herne tavern have Barn in back garden of pub which > you can rent. They do have the barn, and it's a great space. When we looked in to this it was ?75 for the rental. We didn't go for it though as the total price can add up quite quickly as you have to then buy all the food and drinks for the kids through the venue.
  22. I think the best thing to do is to go on the Southwark website and download all the nurseries Dulwich. Then have a look at which nurseries work for you looking at thier location, opening times, OFSTED ratings, etc. (whatever is important to you) You can download all the nurseries here: http://www.southwark.gov.uk/downloads/download/3272/nurseries Then phone them up the ones you like and see what their availability / waiting lists are, and compare that to when you need to start. Then visit the ones that are left over and choose your favourite. You might find that your shortlist ends up being quite short. Good luck!
  23. I can't wait to see the outcome of the study. Congrats to you guys for organising this and capturing the imagination of so many residents! I'm proud to have supported.
  24. :) well done!
  25. I know you're being facetious but if you can drive them you could take them to the Southwark Recycling Centre, which I think is pretty much the best the best thing about Southwark. I go there nearly every Saturday dropping something off. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/10070/recycling/1364/reuse_and_recycling_centre
