If you can keep your head... (update 1)
Administrator replied to Administrator's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks Penguin68, I have moved it to the business section but left a link to it in the Covid-19 section. And removed those annoying capitals in the title! -
Has anyone in ED actually heard about the virus?

malumbu Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > This is a site for advice and help. Go to the > lounge if you want to have wider discussions. We appreciate what you're doing malumbu but threads will go off and on topic, I'd suggest that unless it's really wrong you leave it to the Admin team to police threads, we're used to making unpopular requests. -

It's impossible to keep it perfect and threads on topic but yes, general discussions e.g. political rants will be moved to the Lounge. -

Done, let's see how we get on. -
yorksgirl Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How lovely of the EDF to 'lounge' a thread trying to help Kings staff and carrying link to a local > support group. If you have a problem with it please let me know rather than putting disrespectful passive-aggressive comments. I don't have time to read every one of the 500+ posts a day so we tend to act on the title, which wasn't ED specific so it was Lounged.

...when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you. (If - by Rudyard Kipling) See the link at the very top of the page or drop-down for the East Dulwich COVID-19 Area on the forum Update: 22nd March The section's working well, I think. I need a concise list of help given or where assistance required that I can direct people to, or replicate on the forum. I make decisions about some posts which doesn't make me popular. Yes, some topics are important and are to raise awareness about x, y and z but the forum is more tactical right now so I'm removing some noise. It may be your comment or your thought that x, y or z is important so please don't be offended if it's moved/removed. I can and do change my mind, and I do make mistakes. Please help let me know what's best for the community and the Health Staff that look after them. Please don't come into contact with other people, just see how fast it is spreading. My parents are in the vulnerable group and I don't want them to die early because you got it from a friend, then gave it to your mum, who left it in the Post Office etc. ----------- Blimey, it's all going a bit crazy isn't it. We're struggling to keep the forum slick so... We will be stricter on moving messages to different sections, especially business ones to the business section. There seem to be a lot of repeat posts, so sorry but some posts will be moved or removed. We can't have a new post for each shop/restaurant/cinema that closes. Trolls will be banned without warning. Unnecessary opinions on facts may be removed e.g. "Hey everyone, shop x now has toilet roll" -> "Typical capitalist shops.. rant rant rant". This helps keep the forum fun and useful. If you have a good idea of how the forum can help reduce the impact of armageddon let us know. We can't reply to all messages but will read them all. We're happy to have one thread that has factual, useful info with links to other resources e.g. WhatsApp groups, helpline etc. let me know your thoughts. How do I know if I have coronavirus? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-51934576/how-do-i-know-if-i-have-coronavirus A great article on social distancing and why you should do it: https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/ We don't know how this will pan out so please bear with us. Please wash your hands, more than you usually do.

PM me saying please delete my account

We don't have any new flashes, if you mean the red 'new' next to threads and messages you've not read before nothing has changed. Top tip: If you go to this page /forum/index.php and click on all the "Reset new posts" links it'll make the forum faster for you.

Sorry, we didn't see this spammer. I won't ban them just yet as I'm interested to see if they reply but I will remove their spammy posts. We seem to be getting a lot of spammers these days, please do report them (just one per spammer) and we'll get to them asap.

Local MPs active in the local Southwark area
Administrator replied to hammerman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
hammerman Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Not sure why this would be put in the Lounge > section? If this becomes a generic election/political discussion it will be Lounged. If it stays about Local MPs active in the local Southwark area, great. Political threads tend to get a bit, er, political, ranty and not ED-specific. -

Problem with posting to forum - can anybody help?
Administrator replied to Sue's topic in The Lounge
We think it's something to do with some code on the site when using macOS with Firefox or Chrome, I forgot to get back to Lemmy about it but when someone here at Forum HQ gets a chance they will look into it. -

Reporting offenders to the authorities with evidence is a good start. Or returning the poo back to them so they can do something with it. Educate the fecal ne'er-do-gooders that they've done wrong, raising their awareness that they are not improving the community and it's environment. -

To be clear, knowingly leaving your dog's do-dos in a public place is a criminal offence. Please direct your community spirit at those that leave the mess there, not at those that clear it up and raise it as an issue. -

Turn it down will ya! I've removed the photos from the original post as it's made the Caps Lock button stay on, and by request. Please pick up your dog poo so others do not have to. -
Please keep this on topic: "General Election Hustings"
