  1. If you do wish to contact TLERA the chairman's email is chairman@tewkesburylodge.org.uk. I don't think the views of East Dulwich residents will have much impact on TLERA, which is set up to represent the houses on the Horniman hill. But their is no reason why you should not contact them to express your views on the lovely nursery in their area. As a Piplings parent I would like to thank EDF posters for their positive messages. It is a great nursery that we felt was exactly what we wanted for our daughter (for anybody's daughter). After our daughter started they got a perfect OFSTED inspection, with ouststanding in all 17 areas, and this reaffirmed our judgement that this nursery is something special.
  2. http://sydenham.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6484&p=50502p50502 And now the same persona is complaining that a white racist is is called white trash. Either you find reference to colour offensive or you don't. But everything said by this individual is just designed to wind up decent people on the forums. Huguenot's fine post ought to have been good enough to explain why people are entitled to find 'white trash' offensive, but why context is also relevant.
  3. Waitrose and Ocado stock various cuts of kosher beef as well as viennas and frozen chicken breasts and thighs. Just Kosher in Hendon do fortnightly deliveries to South London (if you are at home on a Tuesday afternoon). Apart from that you are best to head up to Golders Green for a good kosher butcher. Catford synagogue (Orthodox) and Bromley synagogue (reform) are both very welcoming synagogues, and Bromley has a number of families with only one Jewish partner.
  4. I would dispute either your claim or your memory. ?12.5m is being invested in Forest Hill swimming pools in Lewisham borough and I believe significantly more was spent on renovating Kentish Town (Camden borough).
  5. If I had my way (and 5 billion pounds) the Bakerloo line would be extended along the route of the 176 to East Dulwich and Forest Hill, then above ground at Bell Green from where it could continue to Hayes or Bromley. This would provide the best solution to reducing overcrowding at London Bridge and Lewisham and provide connections from four separate national rail line and two arms of the East London Line. It would provide real underground connections for South East London across all zones. It utilises the only underground line with spare capacity as it reaches central London and the tunnel that already exists as far as Camberwell.
  6. A number of members of the Forest Hill Society live on the Horniman hill, within the TLERA area and on the roads on the other side of Honor Oak Road. The residents who have been most in favour of the extension are the people who live in exactly the roads you mention. They tell me that they are fed up with having to walk/push buggies up the hill when the bus dumps them at the cemetry. Switching to the P12 means waiting for longer than it takes to walk up the hill and will cost you an extra ?1.20 (the same as it costs to travel all the way from Kings Cross to Wood Vale). Given the frequency of the 63 at peak hours it would be difficult to take all the buses over the hill, but I strongly support continuing some of these buses up to Honor Oak Park station, even if continuing all the buses would be too difficult/costly/noisy for residents. Although reliability is important, if the destination is made clear on the front of the bus then passengers would be able to choose whether to walk up the hill or wait for the next bus. I suggest that a pilot scheme is put in place as soon as possible. It sounds like buses running on this route would remove cars from the route rather than add more, so some of the justified concerns may turn out to be unfounded.
