  1. As above, another recommendation for David. Our ridge tiles that had come off during the recent high winds and David was responsive to our initial texts, came round quickly to quote for the job and was able to fix the tiles within a few days. Plus also emailed photos afterwards for our own records. Incredibly affable guy, very trustworthy, and (I think) offer a fair price too.
  2. Hello, I'm looking into all-inclusive holidays for September/October and a friend has suggested Cape Verde for the weather. I'd love to know if anyone has been, and if you would know of any all-inclusive activity holiday companies (a bit like Club Med stylee). Any travel tips or travel company recommendations gratefully received :) Thanks in advance!
  3. Thanks so much for the intel, everyone! Really really helpful. The tagalong things look great, but our two are 3 and 18 months so are a little young for this. One for the future maybe. The Niholas also look great but we have a storage issue and I'd rather go down the trailer route, especially if it can be collapsed and stored in a shed. Etta166 - thanks for your message. I'll PM you. And I'll also pop into Balfe's Bikes too - thanks Richard! :)
  4. Hello, I'm a cycling novice & looking into getting a bike trailer so I can get some exercise & take my 2 kids with me on quieter roads & around parks - I won't be using it for commuting. I can't spend loads, maybe up to ?200ish (from Amazon perhaps?!) and have been looking online. Would really appreciate getting any feedback from knowledgeable cyclists who use bike trailers and can advise on the better ones for space, comfort & safety for the kids, and lightweight for me. I'd also like one that can transform into a pushchair, if that's not asking too much. Any advice gratefully received. Equally if you're looking to sell one, please let me know! Many thanks in advance :)
  5. Hi mimi, in afraid this was 2015's group. There should be a 2016 now on the Edf? Good luck with everything! X
  6. Hi natty, this was the group for spring 2015. There should be another group set up for spring 2016. All the best! Suzie
  7. ... Plenty of treats to hand out but we may be forgotten given our 'tucked away' location! Find us down past Sainsburys & Dulwich Hamlets FC. Come get your goodies. Mwahahahahaaaaa....
  8. Sorry to miss you all again, can't wait to finish work at the end of the month so I can do more fun stuff locally! Interesting article re dates. I love dates & was eating them fairly regularly up to the birth & during my initial contractions (along with hoofing plenty of Twixes, it has to be said). The birth of my daughter was very quick & straightforward by all accounts, so perhaps there's something in it?! Looking forward to meeting you all before too long. Suzie & Iona
  9. We have lived there for 2 years & are very happy! It's me, my husband, our 2 year old daughter & a baby on the way. It will be a little 'cosier' with 4 of us, but we are looking at extending (fingers crossed) to add a 3rd bedroom, all being well. Otherwise, I would say for your mum it would be perfect. Very quiet - we are on the Burrow Road side & so closer to the football club but can honestly say we don't hear it really. Having Sainsbury's so close is brilliant & it's only 5 mins to ED station & 10 mins to Goose Green/Lordship Lane, or a bus up the hill to Denmark Hill station. Perfect location really. I walk down St Francis Road twice every day to get to the station, coming back home when it's been dark in the winter recently, and have never had any problems at all. We are right in the far corner of Burrow Road and no issues walking down there either. It's mostly families really. The big block of flats is hospital housing mainly for Kings staff (I think?). So nice to have a house with great outdoor space, something we couldn't find when looking elsewhere in ED given our budget. You're very welcome to pop by and see inside if you're in any doubt - I've found our neighbours to be super friendly over the time we've been here & when we were investigating extension options, they opened their doors to us as well. I'd definitely recommend moving here, no regrets!
  10. Another recommendation for Dulwich Childcare. We used them recently when our daughter had chickenpox & need emergency cover for one day (similar issue where neither husband nor I could get off work for that day). Great service & we were very happy with the childminder provided.
  11. That's worked - well done & thanks! Looking forward to meeting you all soon , Suzie
  12. Hi mooncake. I can't seem to find the group on FB - should I send you my email address? Thanks Suzie
  13. Yes please! I work full time (though potentially with the odd Friday at home) & it would be lovely to meet up one evening. My daughter will be 2yrs 3mths when no2 arrives (mid-May). See you soon, Suzie
  14. Hello! I'm expecting my second mid-May and my first will be 2yrs 3mths old. The ED group was fab first time around and looking forward to meeting some new local mums in due course! I can't make the 21st sadly but hopefully at another meet up. Suzie
  15. Just seen this - I'd be keen! Have you got together yet?
  16. Sad to miss the drinks but we're on hols tomorrow so packing the bags (& also drinking wine so with you in spirit!). Have a great time & hope to see you again sometime. This work stuff really sucks at getting in the way of coffees & cake! Hope everyone + babies are doing well... Suzie & Iona x
  17. I'm also now back to work full time and so won't be able to meet up during the week anymore - sob! A few of us did mention maybe the odd get together on a weekend for brunch, or potentially another 'wild' night out sometime, and I'd definitely be keen for this if anyone else is. Enjoy your get togethers & hope to see you soon. Suzie & Iona x
  18. Fab, will drive back once Iona's woken up (also still zzzzz-ing!). Looking forward to seeing you all, it's been ages!
  19. Oh bugger! Just got home - stopped by clockhouse at 1.30 but couldn't see anyone, just a few Xmas parties - no 3G meant I couldn't check EDF! Iona's sleeping then will need a bottle. Will people be there for a while? Could head out again for 3pm if people will still be around?
  20. Hello! I'm going to try to go to Peckham Plex in the morning & make the most of my remaining mat leave activities (back to work in January - boo). Would love to meet up with anyone who's around in the afternoon? Suzie & Iona xx
  21. Enjoy your drinkies ladies - am very jealous! Hopefully we can arrange more drinks in the new year. Have fun! Suzie x
  22. Morning! 11am or 3pm would be perfect for us to, though sadly not this week as we are all full of a horrible chesty cough & cold so staying away from people so as not to spread the love! Will hopefully be better by next week. Great idea re Xmas drinks too but the husband is out on that night so I'm on baby duty. Another time though - perhaps in the new year? Stay warm & well everyone! xx
  23. So sorry to miss this yesterday as my folks were in town but sounded lovely Jude! I haven't made the meet ups in yonks as Iona generally is napping over lunch these days. I was wondering if anyone would be up for meeting at a different time next week or week after (not necessarily on a Thursday), say later in the afternoon, c. 3pm? It works well for us post-nap & would fill the pre-bedtime gap nicely! Suzie & Iona x
  24. Sorry to miss this - again! My folks are in town so seeing them. Will try to make it to another get together soon as it's been a while! Enjoy :) Suzie & Iona x
  25. Planning on coming along today & should be there shortly after 12. Looking forward to it! Suzie & Iona
