Hi, I need to buy a pair of shoes /boots for my daughter, I'm happy to stay local or going central or anywhere good recommendations will send me. I need good shoes, resistant, comfortable and not too expensive. Thank you so much, all the shoes and boots I have bought have holes in the sole in less than 3 months.

Hi, my daughter is really interested in playing chess, not sure why. I cannot help her because I have never played in my life. I was wondering if there is a club or a course for kids around East Dulwich either after school or weekends. She is 5 1/2 and a complete beginner. Thank you

Hi I have a 5 years old that really wants to learn to skateboarding, but I don't have any knowledge about it. I got her a mini board but it looks to me it's too mini, she is a tall girl, and it doesn't seem to stear. Does anyone knows about which board I should get? Thank you

Hi, if you have any old towels or blankets that you want to get rid off I could take them to the blue cross. They are doing an appeal for their kennel. Thank you.

I would like to thank everyone, I feel so much better,I will look into which schools are near me and visit some but I think I will keep my daughter at her current nursery without stressing too much. I am really greatfull to all of you that have taken the time to write and help. My baby will turn 5 in september 2016 so if i got it right i will have to wait september 2015 to jannuary 2016 for enrolment. I will try to find about this clinic and any help I might be eligible for. Thank you again.

HI Monkey, thank you it does helps, especially knowimg that I am not the only one stressing. I might be panicking way in advanced since she is just turned 2, but I keep on hearing horror stories of kids without a place or sent to school miles away NOt sure which primary is actually the closest, probably St Clement and Heber,I live near the end of Barry road, the Peckham Rye side. Thank you again

I am seriously confused by the education system and I am very concerned and distressed by it. I am a single mum with a 2 year old, at the moment I am working part time while my daugther goes to nursery for 3 days per week. What I earn just about covers the nursery fees, so I rely on working tax credit and child benefit to get to the end of the month. We live in a one bedroom flat, I am paying a mortgage on it so we cannot get any help with the rent. My problem is what to do to get her into a good primary school. First of all I don't really understand the difference between schools( state, accademies, free school etc),perhaps I should mention I grew up in Italy. She is not baptised so any faith school would be out of the question. The competition in east dulwich for schools is fierce and I am terrified she is not going to stand a chance to get into a good local school. I have been advised to send her to the school nursery, but they would only keep her for 3 hours per day, which is impossible if I am working. I do not have any family in this country so the picking up and dropping off is all down to me, if she is sent to a school too far away I will have trouble at getting her there. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, or if there is someone I could contact to help me in this situation? Thank you in advanced for any advice.

Hello, I hope you all had a good christmas. My baby is over a year old and I have a lot of the things she does not used anymore or does not fit in them anymore. Some are too old or used to be sold but they are still in good conditions. I am looking for a charity where they could be put to good used. Has anyone got any suggestions? I don't have a car so they might have to come and pick the stuff up. Thank you

My baby has been going to nursery since September and really loves it. All the staff are lovely and I would like to show my appreciation this Christmas but I have no idea what I should by them. My funds are limited so I cannot afford to buy individual presents. Any ideas? I wanted to avoid the chocolate tins because it seems a bit impersonal. Thank you

hi, thank you for the advice, unfortunately we do not have a car and dad is 80 so a bit too far to walk. We are still looking tho. We will arrive on the 22nd of December and leave on the 1st.Thank you

I know this is the wrong place for this but I am a bit frantic. I have just lost my phone in peckham rye park, it is the only link with my family that it is all abroad and I got all my baby pics on it. I am a single mum with virtually no money so much so i could not afford the insurance, any insurance for the matter. If you find it please pm me. thank you

I wanted to buy a smart trike 1-2-3 as a christmas present for my baby, she will be 15 months by then. However I am starting to wondering how worthy it is.I do see quite a lot of them around, but mostly the parent push them and the kids are either walking or in their arms. Plus all the used one I have found on internet seem to be barely used and expensive. I do like them but I am not sure if I should spend the money or wait till she can go on a bike, maybe a balance one. Has anyone got a smart trike and it was a great success? or a total waste of money? Thank you

Hi, I know this is not the right area of the formus but if any of you know of any rooms or b&b in the area it would be lovely. I am having my parents over for christams to spend time with my baby and we want to buy the tickets now that are reasonable. I am looking for a room during the Christmas period where my dad could stay. He comes from Italy to spend the holiday with me and my new baby but my flat is way too small for all of us. It would be for around 10 days and it needs to be near the barry road/peckham rye side of East Dulwich. Thank you

I just wanted to thank everyone for their help. We have followed your advices and now we have a more enjoyable meal experience. I am actually looking forward to see her eat different food and I don't jump up in a panic everytime she brings food to her mouth. Thank you

Hi, my little one is almost 7 months old, we have been trying some blw. She loves broccoli and pears, mango and strawberry, tryed the butternut squash and sweet potato. while we had good success with some and complete aphaty with others my real dilemma is that she tend to gag a lot.A Carrot almost choked her the first time and she coughed it out the second, it happened in different days the second time I steamed the carrot for over 20 minutes. Now I am not enjoying the feeding time as much since I am spending all the time scared that she will choke. I have done some purees and spoon fed her, she actually does not mind it at all, eats all and happily plays with the spoon. I would love to let her feed herself without the stress and panic I feel at the moment. Do you have any advice? any recipes that are gag-proof? Thank you
