Just wanted to say thank you to Paul for collecting a mattress the other day. Much confusion my end but Paul dealt with it all very professionally. Thanks again Paul.

First page of the thread mentions Americano. It?s quite a simple coffee that I?d prefer to just say ?May I please have a coffee? and that would translate to an Americano. What was an Americano called before it was called an Americano. On American programmes when they ask for a ?coffee? they are usually given a filter coffee. Ah well?.that?s my musings

(NOT Covid) Big going around? Persistent cough for kids
quirky replied to PSJ's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes, my 18month had it early last month for two weeks. He was very unwell and hardly eating. High temperature, painful sounding cough and diarrhoea. We were told by GP that it?s a winter type virus that?s going around. I also ended up getting it. But my symptoms were only for a couple of days. Not COVID, we did a few tests as I was convinced that it was.Best wishes to everyone -
Thank you Alex_b and Fiona C, so useful to know what works others

Hi, does anyone know of any near..ish soft place places that have opened up. Thanks

Hello, would you recommend the iron on type labels that you use for your child?s clothes and bag for school/nursery. I?ve had a look on online and there is a lot to choose from. Any recommendations? Thank you.

I?ve had enough of my boring meals, I?m not creative and really not in the mood for looking up interesting recipes. Same goes for takeaways, just end up getting the same but don?t get them often anyway.? So for that reason, I?m going to give one of the meal kits a go. There tends to be a discount code about for first customers so if it?s too time consuming or not great i just won?t bother again but at least for a week I?d have had a hopefully different dinner options to look forward to. I don?t have a high spec kitchen but suspect I?d be feeling the same if I did. Ho hum...

Thank you for the link and offer. I?ll get a chance to try out the Ikea one this weekend. I?m hoping it does the trick as it would be the simplest solution. Thank you, I hadn?t realised that Boots also sells high chairs
-
Hi JL Dulwich, yes, I think that was Mothercare. I went there last November and they had a closing down sale. I should?ve thought to buy a highchair. I hadn?t thought to try the Ikea one as I didn?t think it would be padded enough. My mum has one that I could try out, it would be ace if that works. As the baby is small he gets all lopsided and has too much room for all sorts of acrobats. I?ll also try a towel in the highchair until I can get the Ikea one from my mum. I?m just not keen on having to get to position in properly with a towel all the time. Thanks for your message, it?s given me ideas to try out in the meantime

Hi, I have been browsing online for a highchair for my baby and have reached the conclusion that I will have to actually go to a shop and see the highchairs and maybe even try the baby out in them (if that?s allowed). My first port of call would usually be Mothercare (which has now closed) or John Lewis (not keen on going to central London). I am after a nicely padded highchair (that?s not too wide) for my small sized baby. He seems to sink into the Hauck Mac one I have and the tray is too far from him. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of the industrial retail park in Croydon as the stores are large enough to stock a wide range (and hopefully enough space to social distance comfortably) but there don?t seem to shops that sell highchairs there. Any recommendations where I can go and see a range of highchairs? (not just one brand). Thank you.

Requesting recommendations for books for babies
quirky replied to quirky's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you for this recommendation. I bought the JellyCat Farm Tails book. I was pleasantly surprised that it also has a button to press for animal noise. Thank think that?s the baby?s favourite bit.I?d be interested in trying out the Wee Gallery next. It?s nice to have books that the baby can squish. -

Thank you for these recommendations. The jellycat books look great, this is what I had in mind. I also like the ?a boy like you? from Shelley John?s reviews. -
Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for a book for a 5 months old baby? Preferably a book made of soft material and has different touchy feely textures. I have had a look at the booktrust website but it would be great to have personal recommendations particularly if the book is easy to clean/pop in the machine. Thank you.

quirky replied to Fuschia's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Michael Rosen's Sad Book and Marge Eaton Heegard's books(helping children deal with feelings using drawing)are also good. -

i'll admit to watching (& enjoying sshh!) Come dine with me. I guess its the very sloppy way people who are unlikely to get on are put together to cook and entertain each other.
