People probably do not know that Lombardy and Veneto, the 2 regions mostly affected by the virus in Italy, have one of the best health system in Europe. The issue is there are not enough beds in intensive care for all the patients which have respiratory problems. Doctors are describing the situation as "dramatic" - this is why all Italy has been closed down, schools, bars, restaurants, shops etc and all gathering are forbidden. Now have a look at this article - Italy has double the ICU beds per inhabitants than UK. https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-can-the-nhs-cope-with-the-increase-in-demand-11953882 Nevertheless people keep going out clubbing and to big sport events as if the virus was an Italian problem only. The government is not responding adequately either compared to other European countries - we should all start cooperating and taking it (much) more seriously.

Thank you Charlie for raising this. I live in Glengarry road too and I am always picking pizza boxes, magazines,rubbish in front my flat that people around dump without any consideration of others. I find it disgusting and always wonder how people have been brought up really. Maybe the stuff you took a photo of does not belong to people living here; unfortunately all the small bits and bobs in the street do come from people living here.

Hi there, Interesting thread. I am one of those that bid on a property and offered in the end a lot above asking price. I know there are other places and I could have bought a bigger house elsewhere or the same type of property for much less, but I simply did not want it. I am in love with ED, I am happy here and this is just a choice. Nobody is taking advantage, it is just market driven, I have decided to go for it , knowing the market might go down, the mortgage up etc. But if I am taking on board all these risks, is simply because the value of living here is to me higher than the latter. Of course not all of us give the same importance to where we live but if, like me, you think location has a big impact on a (happy) life, then - assuming you can afford it - all makes sense.

Hi, any possibility to have less flights flying above the people living in ED? When I am staying at some friends' houses in different parts on London, both south and north, it is nothing like that. Why is this part of London so exposed? Is this fair to people living here? Thanks

Hi, I live in Glengarry Road and last night some people (I think I know who they are and where they live) have screamed and played very loud music till 2am. This is not the first time it happens during the week. I want to go to the police to report the complain. Is there any other advice you would give me in order to stop this happening again?

Has anybody noticed that on this road there is always rubbish? Could the people living around there ask for a green bin so that foxes and cats do not make a mess?
