  1. Hi Hannah. From our experience of dealing with Piplings, I would stay well clear. Whilst the day care is supposed to be pretty good, the overall management team/owners are truly shocking. We placed a ?1,400 deposit with them to take our son, only to find out a week later that we were pregnant, and could not afford the fees on one salary. 3 months out and with a waiting list as long as your arm, they refused to refund us any monies from our deposit, and I would go so far as to say they were very arrogant about the fact that they could do so. It seems they have a separate income stream from ?deposit payments?, as we were one of several, we later found out..... Would not recommend for sure! Plenty of other good nursery?s in ED, so best of luck.
  2. Really nice touch, and glad to see they will be charging the man responsible. Our thoughts are with his family x
  3. P.s. worth noting that this was 9 weeks before our little boy was due to stay with them.
  4. STAY WELL CLEAR off this nursery!!!!! We registered our little boy with them, only to find out several days later that we were expecting again. We foolishly thought such a reputable nursery, with an extensive ?waiting list? to get in, would be understanding. How silly were we...Just an arrogant owner referencing contract terms to us. Yes we lost the full deposit of ?1,400, but a close shave for us I think. Has to be better places to place your children in the area. We have since gone on to find that we are one of many families who have been treated the same way.......
  5. Long shot I know, but it seems as though my "Brooks John Boultbee Oxford Rain Cape" in Grey/Silver piping has fallen off the back of my Brompton saddle. It is extra large and covers the whole body, with pockets for your arms and straps to attach to handle bars. It neatly folds up to strap to saddle via leather straps. If anyone has picked it up around the East Dulwich/Peckham/Herne Hill area please let me know. 07860 113750 Many thanks
  6. This is a great idea and I hope it comes to fruition. I for one use the Rockwell & Charlton (heated) Lido's year round so this would be a fantastic addition to the area. Ok, you might only get the hard core swimmers throughout the winter, but for anyone that has been to Rockwell Lido in the summer months to witness the hour+ long queues, I'm sure you could see why this would be popular. With the addition of a gym/cafe etc. it should also work financially. As an aside, Triathlon is still one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, so people like myself are crying out for 50m pools, indoors or out! Best of luck! I will certainly be supporting.
  7. A great addition to FHR. Very cool place with a decent garden section for those sunny days and some nice seating at the front. Coffee is good and they do some mean cakes, sandwiches and homemade goods. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't already been.
  8. What a fantastic idea! Where is the location? For sure it would be packed during the summer months and I for one would be in there year round instead of Brockwell Lido. Petition signed.
  9. Good food; great decor and nice enough guys. A welcome addition to this side of East Dulwich. Hoping once they get settled they can extend their menu as quite limited right now. Best of luck!!
  10. Just to throw a warning out there, that there seems to be another spree of car break in's around the Forest Hill Rd/Mundania Rd area. No idea when it happened, but must have been over last couple of nights...this also follows several incidents of petrol syphoning; I can only assume for those hair dryer scooters the youths fly around on!
  11. Not sure we need another creche that doubles up as cafe.....ED has way to many of these; to the point that you really do struggle to fine somewhere to sit with a coffee in relative silence... Thought it would have made a great fine dining restaurant myself.
  12. Shocking to see what some people think is normal behaviour. Can you report them to Southwark Council? There must be a division for this type of offence.
  13. We live in one of the busiest cities in the world, and yet we are complaining about a few flights?? How else are people supposed to travel here? I suggest moving to the country would solve any issues with noise.
  14. I have to say, I really don't see what's cultural about throwing balls of hair the size of tumbleweed into the streets around near PR station! Unless of course it's 'Canang Sari' (Balinese street offerings). Or are we saying hair is biodegradable and best we do this instead of using rubbish bins?!?!? Not the most pleasant journey home, but at least I get to stand on the 363 with the empty fried chicken boxes.
  15. All this talk of an M&S Simply Food has been going on since I moved to ED; only 9 years ago now! Surely this has got to be the longest running post on the ED forum..
