Kevin and team completed the brick laying for our two story extension. His team did a great job and of all the trades we have used he is definitely the easiest to work with and has been very helpful in giving advice on the rest of our build. It’s an easy recommendation Kevin’s number-07531 887319

John also did a good job fixing some broken plaster at our house -
musty smell from under floorboards
picmicnic replied to Ergo_mark's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We had this due to lack of ventilation under ground floor, floor boards. We put in some air bricks which fix it but then made the floorboards very cold in winter -
I use to like wagamama until I realised that Monkatsu is much better. I wonder if wagamama won’t be able to compete.

Have lived on Dunstans road for c. 10 years and haven?t found the road noise to ever be a problem (school run or not) Completely agree with point about being between the two parks is the big advantage (I actually prefer peckham rye). For families, it?s ideal; good schools, local shops, great parks and other amenities (eg Horniman).

Harris Primary v Dulwich Village Infants - Reception

Argh, trying to find out catchment distance for DVIS but with coronavirus the school is not answering their phone. Does anyone happen to know the distance for the last 3 years (non foundation place) Any help is appreciated Mike -
Just found out our nursery is charging us nothing (first steps)
-
Our nursery has yet to tell us what they expect us to pay. They were waiting to find out what the government and insurers would cover them for. Given the governments commitment to pay 80% of staff wages - am not sure why the nursery would be asking us to pay any of their fees given they are providing none of the services? Unless I have misunderstood the governments commitment?

Is there a reason the old small play area is not open? Found it closed today, we find the new play area too busy and really for older children

Agree - the current layout is poorly designed and dangerous -
http://www.soundstop.co.uk/solutions/ceiling_access/ceiling_solution_1.php i.e. this is probably best addressed by the flat below you installing an additional sound proofing layer to their ceiling rather than you doing anything to your flat.

Thanks for the replies. To answer the question What kind of rooflights does that assume - glass roof in side return Are you using reclaimed London Stock brick or rendered cement blocks for the extension - cheapest (never specified this with the architect) Do you need to do additional foundation work? - yes (14 Meter square of new floor space) What specification of windows and doors would that require - bifolding doors. Is the architect including the cost of the kitchen and finishing in their estimate - not included. Does that include refinishing the garden following the work - yes Installing a downstairs loo or utility room as part of the redesign? - No Are they charging you project management fees to oversea the build in addition to architectural design fees? - Not sure (suspect that includes project management)

Dangerous driver - Peckham Rye
picmicnic replied to Annasfield's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A motor cyclist did the same to me on Tower Bridge. Reported it to the police to but they also said I had to jump through hoops to progress it so couldn't be bothered -
Over hill road, top end of Dunstans road, canonbie road (ie around fairlawn primary school) Note - a view comes with a hill to climb up every day

Big up to the Gardeners at Peckham Rye Park

Agree with the above - Peckham Rye park is great. Really lucky to have it near us. -
Conway busy at the end of financial year shock!

Does this explain why Dunstans Road previously had 3 speed bumps between Underhill road and Peckham Rye but in the last month now has 6. Really don't see why we needed another 3 - seemed like someone looking for something to do. -
I guess the point James Barber is that SE21, according to at least one metric, has got the highest burglary rates in the country - that makes it a hotspot (at very least relative to everywhere else) I would have thought the response from a local councillor (admittably not responsible for SE21) would not be to call the statistics meaningless (fair enough there will be a degree of inaccuracy in them - but there will be some truth in them). Personally - my perception of burglary in our area (including SE22) is high and would be concern if the local councillors are not taking this seriously. I agree with Mick Mac - that the quoted burglary rate for SE21 is not acceptable.
