  1. Is this not a regular Southwark council BAU - we are now back in 70ies?
  2. "improvedaccessibility for the heavy footfall there is close to thestation" - eh? What does this even mean?
  3. It has been crap - well, for those of us who actually use buses. Asking if the South Circular roadworks are impacting the 185 service is like asking if lack of water impact you taking a shower
  4. as long ad THEY can cycle - is fine
  5. .
  6. It's beyond crap. Working for council does not justify this 🤔
  7. Milion of pounds wasted on the closed DV junction - but who cares
  8. @Rockets but these people do not care. You live on main road you go and die - as long as they can cycle
  9. "The issue of cars being parked on the widenedpavement has been discussed elsewhere" - where ?
  10. Yes you have - there was a garden centre in that place before, so much more nature friendly. And then m&s came - this was a very bad decision as there is not enough space for big delivery lorries coming daily. And Sainsbury's is just a stone's away. What is the point of widening pavements in front of m&s if cars are being parked on that widened pavement all the time? What are the benefits for pedestrians? What are the benefits for nature?
  11. Surely even the cyclists have heard about the climate change (?) The pavement in front of the M&S near East Dulwich station was widened and no one knows why exactly - so some cars can park in front of the shop? No I have not seen the plans - frankly, I have beyond zero faith in what you / the council are doing, especially after ltn - in fact, I am absolutely dreading anything the council has in mind The space was not previously a tarmac - it was a garden center
  12. What is the point of the pavement / concrete in front of the dulwich station / m&s? More and more space taken away from nature. Fancy cars parked directly in front of the shop. Concrete, concrete and more concrete. @march46 and it is funny because...?
  13. And? Several anti ltn groups from across London got together to oppose the unfair road closures. I fully support One Dulwich - the arrogance of the pro ltn crowd - especially London cyclists and in case of Dulwich, Southwark council: dismissing every concern, every worry, every question from people living / using main roads, the sheer disdain and treating the people like trash - this will come back to bite
  14. I really hope the arrogant Southwark council will be one day forced to remove Dulwich ltns which it forced on residents against their will
  15. which is entire London
  16. I often wonder if malumbu is an actual human being or a bot. Say you are killed by a cyclist - by a default, according to malumbu thingy you are reform voter - even if you are dead - so apparently it is ok
  17. Replying again to the original message - yes, cyclists should have speed restrictions of 20mph - and more. There should be an exam before riding a bike and all bikes should have plates so the users can be identified and issued with penalty where necessary. The behaviour of cyclists in London is beyond appaling: the arrogance and utter and complete disregard to the basic road safety messaures is quite something else 🤔
  18. and it continues - out of any kind of control
  19. Campaign Update | 1 May Southwark fails to address safety concerns From the summary report we’ve seen, Southwark’s safety audit of the re-designed Dulwich Village junction has addressed none of the concerns raised by local residents. These include: • lack of clear advance warning on Court Lane that the junction is closed to vehicles • inadequate protection for northbound cyclists on Dulwich Village turning right • no signage, road markings or safety features to slow down cyclists at the junction, or to discourage cycling across the pedestrianised area Instead, the audit recommends only the need to improve signal timing and phasing, and further monitoring. We are baffled by this failure to act. Local people – pedestrians and cyclists – are experiencing near misses every day because rights of way are unclear. With regard to protecting pedestrians at the junction from the minority of inconsiderate cyclists, Southwark is lagging behind other London initiatives, like the Royal Parks campaign, which has introduced a Cycling Code of Conduct. LTN and CPZ damage shops and businesses At a meeting organised by the Dulwich Village Residents’ Association on 28 April to discuss ‘The Future of Dulwich Village’, local business owners said that the recent drop in footfall was a direct result of the CPZ and confusing camera restrictions on roads into the village. Hazel Broadfoot, owner of Village Books and chair of the traders’ Dulwich Village Association said, ‘If Dulwich Village is to thrive, it needs to be widely accessible – on foot, on cycles, by public transport and by car.’ She added, ‘If we continue to make it so difficult for people to access Dulwich Village by car, then shops will close and jobs will be lost.’ Thank you for your continued support. The One Dulwich Team
  20. @Earl Aelfheah malumbu said: "I'd have zero tolerance and send cars to the crusher. Yep, war on motorists!" - which is relevant to the pavement widening outside M&S / the station how exactly?
  21. I live in the area, contacted southwark council and tfl, have not received a response yet why the works are to take 13 weeks. How about working long hours / weekends / overnight? To minimise the chaos and disruption.
  22. Yeah, would want to know which part of Dulwich this individual lives in - or even if it is a real person 🤔
