I highly recommend Phil at Four Paws doors for fitting a pet door. He has recently fitted a new microchip door for me in a very awkward tight spot. He came up with a solution for the problem of how to fit it within the space and supplied the appropriate flap as well as fitting it. The work was done within a couple of days of my initial enquiry. He was very friendly and helpful throughout and did not make a fuss despite having to work hunched under a desk and hitting his head several times!!! His indepth knowledge was really beneficial and so much better than getting a general handyman to do it. http://www.fourpawsdoors.co.uk/ m. 07814 406010

Electricity fluctuating since NYE
cat woman replied to cat woman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks to everyone who reported this. After a few hours power outage on Monday night while they fixed the faulty cable the issue on Oakhurst was resolved and mine has definitely been fine ever since. I hope everyone else’s is now fixed too. If not get onto uk power networks. They will send engineers to investigate. -

Thanks for letting me know. Looks like it's our little area then. If you are able to report it would be really helpful. It seems to be getting worse I think today. -
Electricity fluctuating since NYE
cat woman replied to cat woman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have reported this to UK Power Networks and they are going to investigate but they said that anyone experiencing the same problems shoudl also report it as it will help to locate the source of the problem and increase the urgency. The number to report it is 0800 31 63 105 -
Hi Has anyone else noticed their electricity dipping quite frequently and their lights flickering over the past couple of weeks? My neighbours have had the same issue so I think it must be an issue with the main supply. We are in Oakhurst Grove. When I checked the UK Power Networks website there have been a few power cuts in the area which are now fixed but it hasn't resolved the flickering. I will report the issue to them but it would be good to know if anyone else has noticed the same problem. Thanks

I have just had my sofa reupholstered by Kennington Upholstery limited and I am blown away by the quality of their work. My sofa is over 20 years old but good quality so I decided to get it reupholstered rather than spend more than twice as much on a new one. I just got it back and it is amazing. Not only does it look great but it is structurally back to its original quality. The service was great. I would recommend using their delivery service as the guys who do it are the ones who do the work so they are able to dismantle if needed and also take great care of it. They’re so friendly and helpful too. There’s a huge range of fabrics across all price ranges or you can source your own. Mine was one of the cheapest. It took about four weeks which seems a lot quicker than most new sofas take to come. I’ve attached a before and after picture of mine. Their details are Kenningtonupholstery.com [email protected] 07440 209387 Before After

I have recommended Leon from Electrical Initiative Ltd before on here, but he has just done some more work for me on a much larger scale and I really wanted to recommend his services again. He is the nicest, friendliest person you could meet. He's contentious, neat and tidy. Very professional, and helpful offering advice and suggestions for the best option. He's flexible, fitting in around my other building works and liaising with the other workers to ensure everything went smoothly. He's prompt, but will always let you know even if he's only going to be ten minutes late. He's also very reasonably priced and fair with his charges. Leon: [email protected] 07707 925039

I'd like to recommend Jack and his team for any building projects. They specialise in damp proofing and recently tanked my very damp cellar so it is now fully waterproofed with a new concrete floor and fully membraned and plastered walls and ceiling. The team worked tirelessly and without complaint despite it being the hottest week of the year carrying two tonnes of concrete into the basement. They were all friendly, courteous, considerate and a pleasure to have around. Jack was always super helpful, so friendly and easy to deal with. The added bonus is that their prices are incredibly competitive. I will definitely be using them for any future projects. Jack Hart: 07877 805665 [email protected]

I've just had Leon at Electrical initiative Ltd (07707 925039) do some work for me and I highly recommend him. He's friendly and really helpful offering a range of solutions to the problem. His pricing was very fair and his work was extremely clean and a really neat finish. I will definitely be getting him to do more work in the future.

I'm adding to the chorus of praise for Aria and Dan. They responded really quickly to my call, sorted everything quickly without any fuss or moaning. They are so friendly and a pleasure to have around. They're very fair with costs and call out fees. In addition when the repair highlighted another issue needing an electrician they recommended a fantastic friend, Leon, who I also highly recommend (07707 925039).

I just wanted to warn people that on Saturday night/ 5.30am Sunday morning a man climbed over my side gate into my Back garden. We think he had tried to get into the front door first and then gone round the back. We were alerted when he lit up our bedroom window shining a torch into it. The police came really quickly but he had run off when we put on the light. Please be extra vigilant ensuring gates and access are secure. He shouted at my partner to go out into the garden so is confrontational so please be careful. Stay safe

I can also recommend Aria and his team. They recently replaced two radiators for me and were really friendly, helpful and flexible when we realised mid-job that I needed to paint the wall behind the old radiator before fitting the new one so they came back the next day to finish the job. As everyone has said above they are reliable, honest, friendly and professional and I don't hesitate in recommending them.

My black fluffy moggy has been missing since yesterday. It?s totally out of character for him to miss a meal and not come home regularly. He?s quite anxious and easily scared so he might be hiding somewhere. Please check your gardens and anywhere he might be hiding or trapped. I live halfway down Oakhurst Grove and my garden backs onto the gardens of Crystal Palace Road. My other cat Maxi?s getting very stressed without him!! Please let me know if you have any news of him. Thanks so much for reading this post.

House burglary in Oakhurst grove
cat woman replied to cat woman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks for your message. I'm fine and am lucky they didn't take much and nothing of sentimental value. Just the inconvenience of sorting out the repairs today but thankfully nothing worse. -
Just thought I'd post this to warn people that I was burgled today while out at work. I'm on the ground floor and they got into the back garden and then tried to smash a window but finally got in by levering open another window. They just grabbed a laptop and tv. I got home about 5.30 and found it. Make sure side gates are locked and Windows and doors secure. Would hate anyone else to come home to such a nasty surprise.

If you have to leave the dog for long periods of time while at work you might be interested in the website ? http://www.borrowmydoggy.com It teams up people who love dogs but can't have one with people who have them but occasionally need someone to help walk it, dog sit, etc. I borrow a dog that I take into work with me one day a week. It's lovely.

Whereabouts are you? I live in Oakhurst Grove and twice in the past three days one of my young cats has brought in a small piece of fresh cut raw chicken at night. Fortunately he has no interest in eating it and just pushes it around the floor but I'm wondering where on earth it might have come from and it seems odd that it's clearly fresh. I'm quite concerned about it as it's unlikely to be something he'd just find lying around.
