  1. are you shopping for diamonds / engagement ring or general jewellery ?
  2. Thanks bumpy. Thats a really great idea. Half the price, less bulky and more usable.
  3. Im wondering if anyone out there has a suggestion for a good travel feeding tray / mat/ plate etc for taking on holidays. My son is only eating finger food at the moment so im looking for something to use at restaurant and cafe tables while away. We already have some Munchkin Stay Put Suction Plates and a Brother Max bowl with suction piece but neither seem to stick well and my son can pull them off. Ive seen the Tiny Diner Placemat http://www.nctshop.co.uk/Tiny-Diner-Placemat/productinfo/5710/ has anyone used it, does it work or am I wasting more money ? If anyone has any suggestions for feeding on the go Id love to hear them. I know could use wipes on the table before he eats but I wouldnt fancy eating my dinner off a wiped table.

  5. I used the bum genius V3 0r 4 I dont know on my baby from 12weeks. He was small, hovering around the 15% weight mark and breast fed and I had no problems with them, when I went to order more nappies the freetimes ones were available and thenappylady.co.uk suggested them instead. I love them, they are so easy to use, dry quickly and are not too bulky. I tried some other ones at the start but found these to be the best.
  6. Hi, We use a Financial Advisor recommended to us by a friend and we are really happy with his service. His isnt local but he has met us by our work (in the city) and had offered to come to ED to meet us also, but after meeting him in the city, we managed to do most of the work over the phone and email. Heres his details, if you get intouch you can tell him Aileen recommened him. Ian H Butler CI Financial Planning e-mail: [email protected] If you want his phone number or more details please let me know
  7. we used www.paspic.com as we needed to get photos for a 5week old which was not easy you can take the photo at home on your phone or camera at a good time to suit baby and you just upload it and they will print it out to the correct size. Easy and cheap and they come in the post quite quickly.
  8. Thanks. I appreciated your food for thought !!!
  9. we used John at Xon Cleaning http://www.xoncleaning.co.uk they were really great, it was an end of tennancy clean and would use them again for sure I have a phone no if you need it
  10. Hello ladies, We are talking about trying for number two and I was wondering if having a midwife team is better than not. Im at the gardens surgery and with my first I had the midwife there (Stella) for my appointments although she was at less than half of them. I saw a lot of different MW's at each check up, so I didn't really have any consistency thought out my pregnancy. Some of the other mums-to-be had a group of mw's they saw and they seemed to have their mobile number to call if they had concerns and had a good few home visits. I didnt have any of that. In the end with #1 I had a planned c-section cos baba was breech so I didnt experience Kings labour ward. So I was wondering if its worth switching doctor surgery to one that had a midwife team (like the lanes midwifes) or when it comes down to the birth does it really matter?
  11. making your own would be easiest, zombie, witch etc. the pound shops down on rye lane have witches hats and Halloween stuff if you need it. zombie is easy just get some old clothes some fake blood and make your face up to look like death.
  12. Has anyone got a child under 2 going there? We would love to here your thoughts on the newly opened baby room thanks
  13. Hi, I bought a selection of releasable nappies before my son was born but didnt start using them till he was 12 weeks old. I found I had enough other things to deal with in the early weeks but I use them most of the time now and I love them. I dont use them if Im on holiday or out and about for the day. I use the Bumgenuis free time and they are really great. So easy to use. my main reasin for choosing them is they dry really quickly and we dont have a tumble dryer. If you wanted to see my collection Id be happy to show them to you. They are not absorbent enough for night time so we use the tots bots with a mother ease wrap for the nights. www.thenappylady.co.uk is a wealth of information, I also bought nappies from www.fill-your-pants.com throught the web page I requested a demo from a local rep and went to a house hear Denmark hill to see the nappies. The lady who did the demo is independent rep so has lots or brands she can show you. I can send you on her details if you like. Good luck with it all.
  14. Perhaps we can choose two nights a week, that way if you cant make one you still have the other option, as something will always crop up last minute etc?
  15. I will be away next Thursday but otherwise the day works for me. So I'll miss the first get together but will join you guys on the second week. Good luck with it.
  16. here is a link to the programme I followed when I first started running and I think I'm back to that stage now. It assumes you run 3 times a week but give you an idea of how to build it up. http://www.bupa.co.uk/running/training/training-programmes/beginner-5km/
  17. Great !!! So it looks like were a group of 7. (Mrs_Glennie; jennifaah; amydown; MOTHERSMEETINGS; midivydale; Convex; Dibden) Shall we meet next Tuesday at 7.45pm outside the Dulwich Library and see how we go from there. Convex if you can find that 6week programme that would be a good start. I followed one before and it was useful, I will see if I can dig mine out too.
  18. Signed. Exactly the trouble we had, our son had it cut at 2 weeks old but they were a very tough 2 weeks, I could only properly feed him once it was cut
  19. It looks like this thread was started in January, however I would be keen to join other running moms now. midivydale, Convex, Mrs_Glennie, we could start a new group if you are up for it? I have be thinking about getting back running recently, my son is 5 months old now and im just about ready to do it but as its getting dark I'll really need an push to get out. havent run since pre-pregnancy so its going to be tough. Week day evenings around 7.15 - 7.30 (once baby is asleep) gets my vote
  20. Thanks, I will check these out. The service I was quoted is much higher because it is for two wills and two Lasting Power of Attorney ( Health & welfare and property & finance)
  21. I was just wondering if anyone has used "Exclusively Wills Ltd". I got their flyer with my NCT magazine. Has anyone had an experience with them good or bad. They provide a will writing service but are not solicitors. They cost around ?495+VAT for two wills plus two LPA compared to ?1200 for the same service from Glazer Delmar on North Cross road. This is the site. http://www.ewltd.com/ Any thoughts ?
  22. Hi, I was wondering if any moms out there can recommend somewhere I can locally rent a tens machine from. Also rough costs and if booking in advance is essential or not. Any tips greatly appreciated. Cheers
