I second this. What, if any, plans are there to reduce traffic to the east of lordship lane; the new parking restrictions in Peckham and E Dulwich station likely to lead to much more traffic roaming residential streets next to the lane.

Perhaps putting him next to Harris School where there are both no protected crossings outside the school, or lollipop men/women would be a better use of money.

Is it possible to limit the time period to discourage commuters leaving vehicles e.g 9am to 10am, but allowing people to still drive and park at other times?

As noted above, the main problem is the lordship lane whateley road junction.

James Given the recent car crash into the front of Harris Primary school I wondered whether the labour councillors had any view of road safety measures to protect school children. For example, a safe crossing, or a lollipop person. It would be great to understand if you are, or plan to, make any effort in this regard. Many thanks

Depending on what you do, you might not need planning permission. Read up on ?permitted development?. You will need building control approval for all work - is it done in line with building regulations. This is different from planning permission. Subject to the above, it?s worth getting a few building firms to quote for you - walk round and you?ll see signs on the houses being renovated. Get them to break the quote down into the various constituent jobs. You could also do the same with an architect.

Thanks James - there are already local examples where it works well - for example, road closures that are put in place every Saturday for North Cross Road market. If you want cleaner air, children to ride to school etc you need to look at measures that make roads safer.

What do are the major things that the councillors want to achieve whilst in office? My vote would be to make East Dulwich a 'Liveable Neighbourhood' - https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/boroughs/liveable-neighbourhoods . But are there other big things you want to get done?
