  1. they can come through holes as small as a pencil width, wire wool in all possible holes might help.
  2. It would be great if this can be used as an opportunity to fix the junction between East Dulwich Grove and Lordship Lane, opposite the Bishop. It's unsafe to cross, and not that great to drive through either.
  3. It sometimes works out cheaper to have a truck pick up rubble etc every few days rather than having a permanent skip. Obviously depends on particular circumstances
  4. With the publication of the latest round of proposals does this mean lordship Lane is getting no new infrastructure / changes?
  5. It would appear that no schemes are being put forward for aiding social distancing / widening pavements / increased bike racks / reducing traffic flows on the lordship lane: http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/mgIssueHistoryHome.aspx?IId=50023147&Opt=0
  6. I wish there was some movement in Goose Green ward on reducing traffic flows on solely residential roads. A few planters well placed would make a world of difference. No need for grand schemes, where simple solutions exist to reduce unnecessary rat runs.
  7. Lambeth are installing this this weekend https://brixtonblog.com/2020/04/railton-road-low-traffic-plan-for-health-emergency/ would be great if Southwark could show similar ambition
  8. Agree, need a to keep the pavements free. I think the parklet replaces a parking space on the road.
  9. It would be great if a few Parklets could be out outside cafes and restaurants for the summer. Like this: https://www.cyclehoop.com/news/cyclehoop-design-and-install-the-first-on-street-uk-parklet/
  10. And Give free stalls to those businesses in the area that are prevented from opening their physical stores.
  11. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2020/05/16/al-fresco-pubs-dining-save-high-street/ Would seem the govt is going to encourage outdoor dining.
  12. The Immediate roads are much better on a Saturday when the market is on, much easier to find somewhere to park and less traffic as no through roads discourage people from driving round.
  13. thanks james. Yes, i suppose my point is that the context has changed quite a bit - i.e. all cafes, pubs, restaurants are takeaway only at the moment. Opening the market up with socially distanced outdoor seating might offer a route to survival for some.
  14. And on footfall, I would imagine that if some Of the lordship lane cafes / restaurants operated Street stalls, with picnic tables, that might increase numbers of people visiting. I guess I?m trying to think of ideas to save the local businesses. It?s not clear how many will survive without some trialling new ideas.
  15. Ok , make it three days a week. It is after all already closed every Saturday. I?m sure those residents who drivE cars could cope. On socially distancing. If the full road is closed then there?s a lot more space for socially distancing than on for example lordship lane.
  16. Given we?ll be socially distancing for some time, i wonder whether the council could turn north cross road into a full time market place with outdoor seating. Priority for pitches could be given to lordship lane businesses and charities, building on the approach used for the Christmas Cracker event.
  17. Helpfully Southwark already sketches out how they could expand the pavements to offer additional space as part of the (failed) parking proposal I think.
  18. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/28/lithuanian-capital-to-be-turned-into-vast-open-air-cafe-vilnius
  19. Given we will be socially distancing for another 12 months, I wonder what the council can do to make life as good as possible. Obviously looking after the most vulnerable must be a priority, but what other low cost ideas are there: - to protect local businesses and create jobs and - make space for exercise - maintain community spirit Seems like having a plan for east Dulwich for the next 12 months would be good thing for councillors and the community to do to ensure limited resources are invested well. And that we can harness the efforts of the community to help implement the plan.
  20. This makes sense. It?s great that they?re opened up.
  21. Does anyone know how to contact Alleyn's, JAGS and Dulwich College to get them to open their playing fields up for (socially distanced) exercise to relieve pressure on local parks.
  22. Can people post details of any restaurants, cafes, etc that now do a delivery or take out service please? Ideally with a link to their website / social media account / phone number as appropriate. Presumably it helps if we buy direct rather than via third party apps.
  23. Much love for what you?re doing.
