  1. Hi For anyone looking for a heating or gas engineer, we would recommend Paul Harrison. We discovered we had a problem with the gas fitting when we came to install a new range cooker and we found Paul very helpful in resolving the issue. He came on the day we called and was knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient in solving the problem. We would definitely use him again. 2. I'd like to add my recommendation for Fede who cut and highlighted my hair last Friday. I found Fede to be incredibly professional as well as highly personable. His extensive experience was clear in the way in which he took the time to understand exactly how I wanted my hair coloured and cut and went on to give me exactly the results I wanted. He was also very kind to my two sons (aged 10 and 8), listened to what they wanted and gave them cuts that reflected their different personalities. Fede was very accomodating about working from the garden which was necessary as we are sheilding family. Thanks Fede - after nearly 6 months of not having had our hair tended to we now look (and feel) a whole lot better!
  3. For anyone who is interested, I am doing my free talk 'Bringing Out the Best in Your Children' tomorrow evening (details below). The talk shares what I found to be a game-changing tool for motivating your children and getting better cooperation that you can take away and use with immediate effect (just in time for the summer holidays!) and gives you a flavour of what I do at Raise and Shine. Let me know if you would like to come (email [email protected]) and please do forward to anyone else you think might be interested. Suitable for parents of children aged between 2-18. Daisy x Free talk: Bringing Out the Best in Your Children by Daisy Seale-Barnes, Parent Educator and Mindfulness Coach At Space@61, 61 Cheltenham Road, SE15 3AF on Thursday 11th July, 7.30pm-8.30pm To book or for more details email Daisy at [email protected]
  4. I am a parent educator and mindfulness coach and I am doing a free talk about 'Bringing Out the Best in Your Children' at 11.00-12.00 on Friday 1st March at One & All Cafe, Peckham Rye. I hope it will be helpful to all parents. Please feel free to come along if you are interested. Daisy
  5. I am sorry I didn't realise this although I am not sure if my post is classified as an advertisement or not (?!) as I was really hoping for feedback about the idea. I will happily move it if you think it would be more appropriately positioned elsewhere on the site.
  6. Hi I am a local parent and I am in the process of setting up a new business 'Raise and Shine' that runs local courses for parents coaching them in parenting skills and I wanted to gauge interest. The 6-week course is designed to help improve family life by providing parents with the toolkit of skills they need to: -Successfully encourage cooperation from their children -Develop their children's confidence and motivation -Help them to help children to better manage their emotions -Prepare their children to succeed -Establish clear rules -Respond effectively to negative behaviour -Be calmer and more present for their children (and in the rest of life!) -Clarify what they are aiming for as a parent -Deal with specific 'tricky' issues such as mornings, tantrums, mealtimes, bedtimes, screen-time and sibling rivalry The course is suitable for parents of children aged from 2 to teens, and will take place on either Wednesday evenings or Friday mornings in Peckham Rye. Cost ?240. The price includes VAT, Course Manual, all other course materials and refreshments. It's very early days but I have an embryonic website that you are welcome to look at www.raiseandshine.co.uk where you can find out a bit more about me and what 'Raise and Shine' aims to do. I'd welcome any feedback and let me know if you might be interested. Daisy
  7. Another recommendation for Steve 'The Spin Doctor'. He was punctual, friendly and got my washing machine back in working order in no time. Would definitely use him again if I had any problems with another appliance.
