  1. Exactly the same thing happened to me around a month ago. Walking back from working in school around 4pm I was near Harris Boys School. Group of 3 men aged 20-30s one stocky man bald meeting the OP description pulled my hat off and shouted loudly in my face. It came out of nowhere and was really frightening. They all kept walking laughing. This sounds like exactly like the same group and extremely concerning that this is a pattern. I was furious and shouted back at them but they kept walking. I did not report this to the police and in the course of the last week I have thought back to this event. I will report to police tomorrow, I?ve sent OP a DM to get reference number to link my complaint. The impression I got was that they were amusing themselves by scaring a lone woman on her own. They were not kids, these were grown men.

  3. Really impressed with the service from Andy. I called him in a bit of a panic to assemble a kids wooden kitchen (in time for Christmas) and hang several paintings and a heavy mirror. I phoned him on the Friday, he came round on Saturday to quote and spent most of his Sunday doing the work! Andy was very efficient, polite and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and will use him again.
  4. Loved the show last night! Good luck for tomorrow!
  5. I'm going to the 25th rehearsal, fantastic! I'm working in the polyclinic in the athletes village :-)
  6. not stewards no - games makers are volunteers doing tons of different roles all over london, I'm working in the medical centre in the athletes village :-)
  7. Im going to be travelling a lot to and from the Olympic park/East Dulwich as I'm working as a Games Maker volunteer. I need to be there by 6.15am for some shifts (eek!) so will let you know what routes are best. Remind me nearer the time if I haven't got back in touch.
  8. I feel like I've got off lightly - 9 hour shifts but 5 consecutive days, 2 days off and then 5 days on. 6.15 start for first 5 days tho!
  9. Kas is absolutely beautiful - on the turquoise coast
  10. Have you got a black out blind? Maybe waking up with the light. My daughter was and we got a black out blind you stick over the window, think it was from baa baa blinds and it stopped early waking.
  11. I went along tonight to the Peckham Rye Ward Panel Meeting. I raised this issue with the panel - which included Police, PCSOs and Community Wardens. No one was aware of the specifics of the attack as no formal complaint has been made. They were aware of some of the discussions on the forum. The Police and PCSO will discuss the wider issue of dangerous dogs over the course of the next three months and we will discuss the best approach to be taken at the next meeting. The Police take the whole issue seriously but need incidents to be reported to the Police. I would encourage anyone with an interest in this issue, or any other local concerns to attend the next meeting on Thursday 20th May 2010, 7 pm at Harris Girls School
  12. The next Peckham Rye Police Ward Panel meeting is tomorrow evening at Harris Girls School at 7pm. The meetings are open to all and are usually attended by local Police, PCSOs, Community Wardens, representatives from Friends of Peckham Rye Park and residents.
  13. I spoke to one of the Peckham Rye Safer Neighbourhood Officers this afternoon (about our Big Lunch party) and mentioned it to him just to check he was aware of the incident - he said he was and that a 14 year old boy had been arrested.
  14. The Gardens Neighbourhood Watch is meeting this Monday 1st June 7pm at 45 The Gardens. We have recently been awarded funding to be used towards crime prevention in The Gardens. I spoke to the Peckham Rye Safer Neighbourhood Team today and they are interested in using some of this funding towards providing locks for bike owners to prevent future thefts. Please come along and find out more. Btw the Peckham Rye Safer Neighbourhood Team (who cover The Gardens) were not aware of these recent bike thefts so it would be good if those affected could come along.
  15. Hi Peckham Rose - it was me Nik who said hello to you this morning - I thought you looked a bit puzzled! I go the Peckham Rye Ward Panel Meetings with you (I do the Neighbourhood Watch in The Gardens). Anyway hope you're well and see you at the next meeting x
  16. Walked up there yesterday to find the photo developing shop near soupdragon has been shut down - another one bites the dust!
  17. Following the recent burglaries in The Gardens and surrounding area, the Peckham Rye Safer Neighbourhood Team have organised a meeting on Monday 21st July at 7pm to form a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in The Gardens. Don't know if that's near where you live but may be of interest to some on the forum - its to be held at Harris Girls School.

    Arsenal tickets

Very short notice I know, but I have 2 tickets (near half way line in East Stand) available for the 5.15pm match against Middlesborough this afternoon. I live in East Dulwich, so if you are local and wanting to go, there would still be time...
